This is colonization by debt, it's hard to believe that poor China of yesterday has now become the world's economic and technological powerhouse, it's all about good governance and curbing corruption.

I'm sure we're owing IMF and world bank a lot of money too

Meanwhile I don't see any European country on the list, it's all africa, Asia and south America

It is not colonisation by debt as they were not forced to obtain those loans. Colonisation was by force, obtaining a loan is not by force. European countries and the US are wealthy enough to sustain themselves or print Euros and dollars yanfu yanfu and the effects would be less since the Euro and Dollars are used across the world.

P.S. Nigeria owes more to Western countries and institutions than to China.

Colonialism by debt because some of these countries can not pay back China just needs something from them either there natural resources or there loyalty against US or something else

A fight for world economic power house is the game

As many more countries join the list the easier for China to propose Yuan as the world currency against dollar

So the US is not on the list. Fake list.

The US owes China the most money and it's a lot of money too.

China gets a lot of attention for holding a big chunk of the U.S. government's debt. Given that its economy expanded rapidly in the last decades, perhaps this shouldn't come as a surprise. China takes the second spot behind Japan among foreign holders of U.S. debt with $797.7 billion in Treasury holdings as of January 2024.

We need to tread carefully with China. I don't know why a country as blessed as Nigeria cannot look inwards and harness it's resources.

We know their objectives. The leaders can't resist what looks like free money.

Most of our inflation is Buhari borrowing billions then hide it offshore, but they think the money is in circulation in Nigeria.
