We need more people of your mentality as Nigerians. We need to patronize our own to fight this dollar

You are just being conventional, if you are observant it is when govt increased list of contra bands and close border Naira depreciated the most

One annoying thing about local producers in Nigeria, An hike/increase in price has a corresponding reduction in quantity and quality of the product .

Its not just enough to say people should patronize local products, do these products meet standard & customer satisfaction, even the price margin between foreign and the local product is it enticing enough

This is why a monopolistic economy is bad, imagine we have one in South South and one in the North, nobody will be thinking of cheating Nigerians by a way of useless price fixing.

Haba, N550 is too much na. NNPC in Lagos is currently selling at N568 so what's the difference between N550 and N568. Barely N18.

They should propose from N400 and below. Anything outside that would not really make any difference.

Don't mind those rogues, all they care about is there greed pocket

How they try to undermine missing "Freight cost" on local refined product is ludicrous

Why is Dangote not helping Nigeria drive down the price of petrol & diesel just like Allen Onyema of Air peace is doing in the Aviation sector.
Pls Aliko Dangote help Nigerians by dropping the price to at least 300 Naira for petrol & 700 for diesel.
Thank you
Air peace crashing price, is only temporary. Wait till they build customer base that’s when you will see their real price.is it not thesame Air peace that their local flight ticket is the most expensive we are talking about.

So you currently lift at 568 we now have a local provider where your logistics cost goes down considerably and you are suggesting 550 as lifting cost? something is fundamentally wrong with these thieves. you can get the price lowered but you choose to have it high? they do not mean well for Nigerians at all...! greedy brood of vipers whose doom is looming.

How is it that buyers tell the seller how much the product should sell.

Did these buyers tell him how much he should pay for refinery construction

if imported fuel sold by NNPC is currently 568 is it not common sense that local refined fuel should sell at a significant price margin

Since petroleum decides Nigerians fate to a larger extent its not out of place if people get involved. we need more people like Air peace and Bovas in Nigeria

Am afraid dangote can't go that low cos he has so many stakeholders in that company

why should it be about stakeholders, is it not prime cost + total relative cost that decides "selling price"
Re: Petrol: Oil Marketers Propose N550/litre Price To Dangote by Honestey: 9:04am On Apr 08
That means price will still not change, if they buy at N550/Ltr they will still be selling at N600.
But what if selling at N400 would be okey by Dangote himself? Besides I'd like Dangite to establish filling stations across the states

There's alot of secrecy in regards to what is going on. We hope they get exposed someday. Same dangote that fought ibeto cement is now importing crude from United States.

It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Dangote can sell to literally anybody on the planet.
His refinery is right on the shores of Lagos. Load and go.

But somehow they expect Dangote to sell below the current international rate when even Benin Republic will buy at higher prices.
Everybody sells something. It could be goods for profit or services for salary.
Yet, for whatever reason, they expect someone else to do something they'd never do.
Sell below cost price when there's literally a litany of buyers who are fighting to pay the going rate for your goods.

I agree there is lots of secrecy and conspiracy in play, But Nigerians know they are the only ones that can stop these people ... we must not just swallow everything they drop at us

Let Dangote give us COST incured and show workings of whatever Price he arrives, nobody is against him making profit

NNPC subsidizes gasoline.
The real cost on the international market is higher than 568.

If Dangote sets a flat rate of less than #500 in an open market, buyers from outside Nigeria will buy everything for the next 2 years.
They'll load at his refinery, move the gasoline to Apapa Port or across to Cotonou, and ship outside Nigeria at international price with huge profit margins.

It'd be the equivalent of opening a sachet water outlet and deciding to sell at N5 per sachet and N90 per bag.
You'd never have it in stock because outsiders will come with cash and speak for everything you'll produce right from the factory floor.

Its convenient to cite fuel subsidy, funnily no on one knows how much fuel should cost without subsidy, do you know ?

i know fuel is an "international commodity" meaning it has a nearly Universal price BUT Regardless freight and duties are one major cost that can not be undermined esp. when ruled out

No one is saying Dangote shouldnt make profit, but the beauty and essence of local production is an "Alluring Price" it must be cheaper
