Well meaning Ebonyian or any Nigerian will not shy away to manifest such a deep emotional reaction on a visit to Abakalili the state capital or any of the towns in Ebonyi state today. One could hardly help but weep on the state of decay ranging from decay of infrastructure, induced poverty, the level of high tech corruption among the leaders and the level by which the present administration has successfully succeeded in disintegrating the state, socially, politically, and religiously.
Deep feelings accompany genuine compassion. In the Gospel, Jesus tells his followers to "Be compassionate as your heavenly Father is compassionate." So to be compassionate is to be like God. Those who praise the Herod governor of ebonyi are not following Jesus’ teachings

The first stage of commitment to those in need is compassion, a 'feeling with' them. The second stage is a willingness to allow it to happen, to permit deep feelings to move us. Ebonyi is dare need of help now. God where are u?
