Isn't obvious dollar is not the driving force behind inflation?? Tell your govt to reduce pump price & stop blaming people doing their businesses! They are increasing tariff on darkness which will further drive inflation & u come here to blame traders leaving out the main culprits.

As long as the cost of fuel is high, the appreciation of the naira will have minimal effect on things produced inside the country. The cost will only go down if government can reduce petrol to 300 or 400 naira.

Dollar falls won't have much effects on foods in the market, cost of fuel and increment in electricity tariff are the major players here.

oga how much is electricity?

While i agree with u that some nigeria get their own for body....u cannot increase fuel and electricity and expect things to be normal..... Govt has succeeded in trapping down citizens...they can't buy fuel for their Gen, neither can they pay for electricity......Gas is also expensive.....its terrible

NNPC with inflation in food.

See, make una stop all this incoherency on my mentions
What do we use to transport food around the country before they get to the final consumers? Would food sellers not calculate and include the cost of transportation in their final sales price?

A product I use to buy for 2k before Naira depreciation went as high as 3k now the dollar has been steadily decreasing the same product is going for 4.7k

They are the ones suffering Nigerians
The problem is not traders, but pump price!
The effort they are using to defend naira, they should put it in reducing pump price & see if things won't naturally come down. Fuel in my area now sells for 700, something that use to sell for 195. Transportation is key determinant in pricing goods & services. Everything involves movement. Now they have added electricity tariff, which will further drive inflation. These are the things causing inflation, not traders.

We do not use dollar to buy local rice, beans and corn, even garri and yam. Your papa know the reason why these food items are so expensive, he should do the needful.

Just imagine the kinds of reports coming out of this country and someone had the guts to create a Nairaland thread, saying that Nigeria is getting better. I don't know what our problem is, lack of commonsense or being so used a country that doesn't work.

Our problem is that, we are big of a country, the country should be restructured and power should leave the center, you can have your own opinion bury this is where it stand.

In the last 12 years, some sections of the country went against another in the elections, even when it was known to them that their candidate was a failure.

Sadly, there is no relationship between dollar and food being produced in Nigeria, if Tinubu wants the price of food to drop,he know what to do.

Pump price has been around 620 in lagos and prices had been stable.

During the recent naira depreciation and surge in prices of goods their excuse was exchange rate they never mentioned pump price.

Now dollar has crashed pump price is now the excuse abi

it's not about the dollar, the indices of production is the main reason why food is still high.
It has nothing to do with Nigerians
