Why are you blaming the West? Why did Hamas invade and purposely slaughter over 1,000civilians? The present response is no surprise.

Israel pulled out all its settlers from the Gaza strip in 2006, giving the province a lot of freedom to develop economically.

Rather than turn the province to an economic dynamo, it instead preferred to fan the flames of war. If Gaza was a democracy, itwould have longed been kicked out. Hamas serves its paymaster, Iran and not its people.
