THE USE OF MOBILE PHONES AMONG STUDENTS
Mobile technology is currently developing very rapidly and are involved in all aspects of life. Devices such as smartphones, tablets, notebooks, convertible devices, smart watches, and other readers, uses a large portion of the population, including children. Mobile phones represent a major breakthrough in the use of computers and require a new approach. Greater emphasis is placed on the use of cloud services and data synchronization with other devices. Previously, users had a tendency to have all the data on the internal storage of the computer. When working with mobile phones, it is preferable to use mainly cloud services and devices are widely becoming only kind of terminal that accesses the individual data and services. The user was a few years ago fundamentally limited to a specific device and most of the data formats to be able to view and edit only on desktops or laptops. Current smartphones, tablets and other mobile phones allow you to work with documents of all formats, access, and edit any data. All data can be synchronized and the user has access to their information from any device. Users can check their tasks and appointments, view documents requested, work with multimedia data anytime and anywhere. Many mobile phones are becoming fashionable and trying to own the latest tablet or smart phone is noticeable not only among adults but also children. In education and training also addresses the development of mobile computing. It is developed by the amount of mobile educational software, increases the effort and the pressure on the classification of these modern means of teaching. Teachers are experimenting with the use of mobile phones in the classroom. Increasingly frequent are noticeable efforts across the board to introduce mobile phones into education
STUDY TIME
Learning takes time and curricula are designed to provide students with opportunities to learn during classes and during time for self-study. It is generally considered that, as more time is spent on learning, performance will be better. At the same time, students are full of confusion about their future career development during the student period. They may spend time on their hobbies to find future goals which could make them balanced the time allocation between hobbies and learning, resulting in problems such as grade decline due to unreasonable time allocation. Issues with school performance can lead to more problems, such as family conflicts or loss of interest on learning. The research shows that the social and emotional climate of family relationships is adversely affected by poor school performance; at the same time, family atmosphere is a mediating, factors problems which may result from school failure. Whether the investment of study time is related to academic performance is a controversial issue. One the one hand, the research shows that academic performance has a positive relationship with the study time, and students with low performance especially increase their performances with increased study time. In this article, based on his conclusions, analyzing the further impact as the study time keeps increasing, trying to find the limitation of the time investment. On the other hand, some people have an Opposite view on this conclusion. The total time students spent working during a given week did not directly affect academic performance. The conclusion may be led by the method he collected samples. Distributing surveys to students may not feel comfortable providing answers that present themselves in an unfavorable manner. Also, since students may have different foundations in high schools, the result could be inaccurate
THE USE OF MOBILE PHONES AND VARIATIONS IN STUDY TIME AMONG STUDENTS
Mobile phone is one of the most rapidly growing new technologies in the world. In 2001, cell phone users were less than a billion worldwide with the majority of the users from the developed countries. Mobile phone users had reached five billion worldwide with subscriptions from developing countries outnumbering that of the developed countries. Obviously, this increase includes a sharp increase in the number of cell phones used by the younger generations. This area of interest was chosen because of the unregulated usage and over dependent attitude on these devices especially among our secondary school students. Interestingly, this is obviously imperative as the youth have consistently displayed higher level of attachment to their mobile phones which could serve as distractions to them because of the time channeled to the phones. This in turn affect the study time among college students. The variation in study time among college students reflects on the variation in academic performance among students in colleges in Nigeria.
