Look at the South East. There is a reason most, if not all, of the states categorized as Middle Belt share boundaries with the acknowledged eastern states. 7 Likes

It's shameful when adults come online to talk geographical land mass like it they have used it to achieve anything meaningful. As large as the north is, yet what exactly have they done with it. The herdsmen still come to the south to cause havoc in the name grazing.. As small as the south is yet they are more productive than both human capacity and natural resources, if only the gold in Zamfara was deemed a national property then we would know the real worth. The bigger the landmass, the more problematic it is, the smaller the landmass the more productive an area is in Nigeria. 3 Likes |

Its based on population, not landmass. If Borno is 1million people and Imo is 10million for instance, you'll divide Borno to two state? Where is the wisdom in that? Mind you some countries in Europe are smaller than Imo State alone Jogs1900: 3 Likes |

DMerciful:If it's based on population, will it make sense dividing Lagos state into 5 states because Lagos population alone is almost the population of the 5 eastern states... 1 Like |
Re: NIGERIA LANDMASS: Distribution According To Geo-political Regions by DMerciful(m): 2:06pm On Apr 23 |
Is that not the reason Lagos is pushing for more local govt areas? The SE is pushing for a state to balance the political equation of a regions however, they have the population to back that request. Personally, I'd like restructuring with 100% resource control that way it doesn't matter if you decide to create states because you'll fund yourself Jogs1900: |

DMerciful: Why is our brothers from the SE not in support of restructuring?Did you notice that non of their leaders have ever spoken in support of restructuring. Tinubu has been silently doing the restructuring...Don't let us write him off..He is yet to spend up to a year out of the 8years he's eligible to spend. |
Re: NIGERIA LANDMASS: Distribution According To Geo-political Regions by Melagros(m): 2:29pm On Apr 23 |
COMRADES, the north has a very large landmass, that is why it intimidates other regions politically |
Re: NIGERIA LANDMASS: Distribution According To Geo-political Regions by Jogs1900: 2:30pm On Apr 23 |
ariesbull:The president doesn't have the sole authority to allow resource control....The national assembly can do it...The question now is will our SE legislators be in support because its obvious the north will kick against it. |
