Flame333: Yes but the news headline is different from the document title... Withdrawal of appeal is not the same thing as withdrawal of charges pressed or dropping case |

yarimo: Please stop talking what you don't know. Is the chairman a lawyer? Efcc has it's lawyer. The job the the chairman is to instruct the lawyer to do the filling. It is the job of the lawyer to advice him against it. What you should be saying is the lawyer to resign not the chairman man |

Many people who taught they are educated but are actually what we termed (educated illiterate) will think that EFCC had actually withdrawn the case against YAHAYA BELLO. EFCC appealed the initial ruling that BELLO should not be arrested until determination of BELLO'S prayers before the court. Now that that had been determined and set aside. EFCC no longer had anything to appeal against because event had overtaken the appeal . So it has to be withdrawn so as so continue the substansive case. (SO CASE AGAINST BELLO IS STIL IN COURT) 1 Like |

tunjijones: The OP and the quoted media house appear to be Yahaya Bello sympathizers trying to mislead the public. EFCC has not withdrawn any fraud case against Yahaya Bello! EFCC appealed against the order given by the Kogi State High Court in Lokoja in February that Bello should not be arrested. However, a Federal High Court had given order for Bello's arrest. So by 17th April the Kogi High Court amended its order to say that Yahaya could not be arrested except the Federal High Court orders it. Note that the Federal High Court has already ordered the arrest. So this is just a way of clearing the road by the State High Court. Now the appeal earlier made came up on the 22nd April at the Court of Appeal. By this time it is clear there is no point for the EFCC to continue with the appeal because the State High Court Order has already been amended to allow them exercise the Federal High Court arrest order without any impediment. So they simply withdrew the appeal and told the Judges the appeal has been overtaken by events. Now the "shallow thinking" Yahaya Bello sympathizers are trying to make it look like EFCC withdrew charges against Bello. That is not true. EFCC now has the right to go and arrest him anywhere they see him without bothering about the High Court again. 1 Like |

Most people commenting here don't even understand what this statement means. Efcc revoked their appeal of the order by a high court in kogi to stop efcc from arresting Yahaya Bello. Efcc is not withdrawing their case against him, so I'm wondering why you're all asking the chairman to resign. He's actually following the right legal approach to force Yahaya Bello out of hiding. |

Dapromzy333: Is it that many of you Nairalanders don’t know how to read or that you only read the headlines? The fact that EFCC withdrew the case from Appeal court, doesn’t mean they have withdrawn the case entirely. The article even ended with Him still being declared wanted. |
