[b]The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has
finally paid up the two months
outstanding salaries of former Super
Eagles’ head coach, Samson Siasia.
SuperSport.com gathered that the
salaries were for the months of
September and October.
Acting Secretary General of the NFF,
Barrister Musa Amadu confirmed the
payment on Friday night. “Yes we have
paid him his two months outstanding
salaries and the coach (Siasia) is now
free to also offset his debts and be free
from pressure,” Amadu said. Siasia’s
wife, Cassandra also confirmed the
payment of the two months outstanding
salaries.
But she claimed that the NFF still owes
her husband some outstanding amount,
which will be ironed out after the
Under23s participation in the Olympic
qualification in Morocco. “Yes the NFF
has paid my husband the two months
outstanding salaries. But we are also
discussing on other areas which we are
yet to finalise.
But the NFF has been cooperating with
my husband and we will soon finalise
on the issue,” she said.
It has been gathered by SuperSport.com
that the discussion with the federation
is also centred on severance fee since
Siasia was sacked by the NFF.
Also, the issue of accommodation was
also discussed by the two parties since
Siasia was made to personally provide
for his place of abode in Abuja for the
duration of his tenure as Super Eagles’
head coach. SuperSport.com has also
been informed that the NFF was
supposed to provide for the
accommodation of the sacked coach as
stated in his contract. The financial
settlement between both parties is
expected to be settled before the end of
this year.
However, the Taurus Audi 2011 model
vehicle given to Siasia as an official car
would be returned to the NFF on
Monday. Siasia was not on hand to
comment on the development, as he had
left Nigeria for the UK on Friday morning
to see his doctor on his knee problems.[/b]
