The woman, Eve, who was made from Adam, was also made in the image of God given that Eve was a clone born from Adam. Now after they were made, God certified them good— His seal of approval. However, when Adam and Eve fell, God laid His curse on them meaning they were no longer of the image of God. God is holy and good. That which is cursed is not holy and good and hence not of God.
Second, to the curse on man and woman, God placed another particular curse to ensure that all who are born of Adam and Eve were equally born of reduced/cursed image from their conception -

16 Then God said to the woman, “I will cause you to have much trouble when you are pregnant. And when you give birth to children, you will have much pain...” - Genesis 3 vs 16

The above curse pretty much sealed the fate of all born of a woman into this world. Every human born into this world is born cursed from birth, and that curse manifests itself in numerous different ways, some physical, some mental, some genetic, etc.

So, to answer your question, after God washed His holy, and good hands off man and woman, and even their childbearing, all forms of imperfections became regular places thanks to God's curse. It isn't that they were created by God, but rather that we were all created broken individuals by the curse which was placed by God on man as a result of individuals. And yes, every human being born into this world is born broken.

The man God is written to have created in God's image was not named Adam, and was not created from mud, and was not told not to eat any fruit, and was not a slave in a garden, but was created to "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth", and "every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat".

The only reason anyone would like you to believe your claim above that Adam was the same creation as God's Image, is to hide the fact that some are slaves while some are masters.

You were told that God created male and female, were you not also told that sin entered into the world and as result every abnormality surfaced?
For example death, death was not path of the creation but came as a result of sin, human being were not suppose to eat flesh but now crave and eat flesh, Polygamy was not God's plan but it came as a result of the fall.
