If the exchange rate can fall below 1000/$,electricity tariff will fall the more.

Because we are running a dollar economy. And dollar is our official currency

While we earnestly look forward to the exchange rate falling below 1000/$, efforts should be made to ensure it gets below 216/$, where the APC met it in 2015.

How does that change anything, really....?
Keepon dreaming

Power has been privatised since 2013, so it is in the hands of the private sector to give power.

But because most of you are not ready to pay cost reflective tarrif, since 2013, government has forced the NESI to charge a tarrif that is way below the cost reflective tarrif, and to introduce the system of stratification.

Had the NESI been allowed to charge a cost reflective tarrif, by now everyone would have had at least 20 hours of power...because the thing would be profitable enough to pay for improvements.

Subsides never work for Nigeria. See we don't subsidise food or telephony...and they all work well.
you can only deceive yourself.

Still too expensive. If you divides that rate by today exchange rate, it will be around 15 cent, that means Nigerians will paying more than it cost customers in most states in America.

Oga rest.

APC didn't specify whether to reduce it or increase it. They only asked if it was ok.

Just like they shouted change. Things can change positively or negatively, so you can't even hold them on that too.

Also next level, no one asked whether it's next level of difficulty like we have in video games. So also, you can't hold them on that.

Even renewed hope, hoping does not necessarily mean that it will come to fruition, you can keep hoping, with your hope renewed each day. But no promises were made. You can't hold APC on that too.

APC has mastered the art of making vague promises which are open to interpretation. You can never catch dem slacking.

Anyway, things do cost money. You are free to think I am deceiving myself.

The GSM sector works because...cost reflective tarrifs

No matter how angry you are, it is a known fact that you won't offer your services to people who cannot afford it

Na 19 naira kpere nine dey commot!!

For those people complaining about why one kilometer of the coastal road would cost 1 billion naira

When they were sharing money in convention, did u think there would be no return on investment

It's time to take it back

Get your facts right. 1km would cost 4bn not 1bn.

One thing I've noticed with this government is, at initial times, they will deliberately implement the very very harsh policy and then on the people's outcry, it will be reviewed to a very harsh one. Quite mundane, very repetitive and boring.

The charges is outrageous, there is need for it to be review downward.

i said it once before.

if you want to increase the price of anything in Nigeria by 200%, first raise it by 500% and let the people cry and scream for some weeks then you take it down to 400% and the people will call you a saviour.
This is the same game Oshiomole played in collaboration with government and it made him a man of the people.
This is the same game industry giants in Nigeria are playing with price of their products.

Yes they are clever because they know Nigerians will never speak up or even speak at all. our silence will not kill us.
