Lizzysamuel: Donât be an illiterate. Amex is bringing their own forex in, they ainât changing your currency to dollar. Nothing stop you from paying naira equivalent with the card within Nigeria if they get all the neccessary approvals needed. Nothing stop you from using it to order goods abroad that youâll sell in Nigeria too. Even diaspora funds we send, donât they credit you the naira equivalent? So whatâs the difference? 6 Likes 1 Share |

LegendHero: Like I said. Go back and read your post and stop quoting what's not in the article. O3 Capital and Amex unveiled the product on Thursday in Lagos, the commercial capital, offering the business card with a spending limit of $10,000. The post never said or its naira equivalent. I wonder where you're manufacturing all these your add-ons from. I'm done with you OC propaganda |
Re: American Express (AMEX) Launches First Business Credit Card In Nigeria by LegendHero(m): 6:40pm On May 09 |
Lizzysamuel: How do you want them to write the introductory statements before? Wouldnât it be the $$ limit? You guys donât understand the meaning of the word âpropagandaâ. You just throwing it around because you think itâs a big word. Thatâs why you have to read the whole post to understand it so you wonât be like that dullard Obi that respond based on headline. In the post, youâll see where they mentioned businesses in Nigeria will be able to spend it within and outside the country. As a leading credit company, Amex and their partners would have consulted with the CBN on the modalities for the in-country own. Itâs not a big deal. 3 Likes |

LegendHero:Let's pretend we are having an intellectual discussion and not the usual sentimental, beer parlour discussions common on nairaland of recent;how does Nigerians getting dollars to fund their credit account of benefit to the Nigerian economy? If you are still sourcing for dollars to fund frivolous spending, how does that help the present dire foreign currency situation we find ourselves in? 3 Likes 1 Share |

AqualinaXYZ: Try and learn Credit cards are better than debit cards If you shop online and buy a defective item, you can request for a chargeback on the card and the money will be refunded https://www.forbes.com/advisor/credit-cards/what-is-a-credit-card-chargeback/ 2 Likes

LegendHero: Leave them. They think this is GTB or Ecobank dollar debit card. Most Nigerians don't know what credit card is. What we have here mostly is debit card both naira and dollars. AMEX is acceptable worldwide just like Visa and Mastercard. I'm glad an omoluabi is behind this as usual. They are the king of Fintech and the service economy in Nigeria while the hateful tribe mostly sell fan yogo and dirty used clothes calling it business 4 Likes |

LegendHero: Its amazing the number of nonentities and nitwits attacking you, and this shows that a lot of Nigerians are actually worse than their leaders. When a company brings a facility to another country, their products or services is not for everyone. This service will help a lot of Nigerians who needs capital or who earns in dollars. There are a lot of Nigerian freelancers that earns in dollars, and I believe this will help them. Credit cards does not mean you have to owe the bank. You can have $1,000 cash, and then put that on a credit card. As long as you replace the money before due date, you won't pay interest except for the monthly charges. The credit card can be used to pay for your LinkedIn premiums, buy connects on Upwork, pay for Apple subscriptions, etc, without having to use your naira Mastercard. This saves you money. You can purchase travel tickets etc without breaking a sweat. Those who need this service will utilize it. And hopefully, Amex will employ Nigerians to manage this business. Imagine earning in dollars as a freelancer and you travel to the U.S. Unfortunately, your client has not paid and you need to make some purchase. You can simply use the credit card, and when your client pays, you return the money. Using Naira Mastercard overseas is not often the best. By the way, credit cards also offer some perks like hotel points, airport VIP lounge access, etc Haven't been to Nigeria in 8 years, but every time I come on Nairaland, the amount of illiterates here shows Nigeria is in trouble. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

seborrhic:Haba is that one a question? They will have to bring a lot of dollar to fund their business na, that will bring in alot of the needed liquidity. Though they will pull out their profit every once in a while but they also keep bringing in fund to run their business. 1 Like |

Lizzysamuel:Abeg just stop na. They are coming in with enough greenback to run their business na. All foreign investors do. The only time you will feel the effect is when they want to pull out fund and you don't have enough dollar. |
