Factfinder1:If you weren't in such a rush to spew your puerile venom, you would have seen the following passage. If you look at it, the law predates the Tinubu administration. It was enacted in 2015 and signed by Goodluck Jonathan. It is only being implemented now.If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be going around calling anyone else a "fool", considering how well you exemplify the concept. 4 Likes |

CaptainStephen: ^^^ On the second part of the sentence above, you are correct about the ONSA not being an 'income centre'. However, you are wrong about the first part. In countries that work properly, there is nothing, absolutely nothing in the history, theory and practice of the ONSA that restricts the post of NSA to ex-soldiers. The country we borrowed the concept from was smart enough to avoid this trap. The ONSA isn't a retirement pasture for ex-soldiers. |

Watch him devise another way and route to milk Nigerians of their money......he said no electricity tariff increase but they later brought band A, band B etc; increase band tariffs we all know what's happening. Everyone is now being slowly migrated to the band A to pay for darkness and incompetence. Knowing Tinubu and APC from past actions, this cyber security levy on bank transactions will still come into force in another guise 1 Like |

Re: Tinubu Orders Suspension Of Cybersecurity Levy by Fujiyama: 10:05am On May 12 |
phemray: ^^^ No. Those countries you speak about have strong institutions. They are far from perfect but they are definitely run more transparently than this country of ours. Their systems are more open and the level of public officer accountability is something Nigerians cannot even begin to comprehend. Mr. Wazobia in those countries will pay his taxes and comply with the law because the law (for the most part) doesn't recognize sacred cows. The system just works! I am not a US citizen. I don't live there. That country has very serious problems and yet at the click of a computer button I can have access to publicly available info on the US president's net worth and his tax filings. Why can't I do the same for my country's president? phemray: ^^^ There is resistance because our governments have always acted in bad faith. People are not blind. People can see when a government is full of hypocrites. This government removed subsidies on fuel imports...with serious consequences for people earning just 30k per month...and the president's son uses official aircraft to go watch polo tournaments. Who are they fooling? This government removed fuel import subsidy and sent the economy into a tailspin. The same government sees nothing wrong with keeping official motorcades, nearly 100 vehicles strong (all fueled and maintained from the public purse). Who are they fooling? This government has been footdragging on any kind of meaningful public sector reform to cut the cost of running government. Nothing whatsoever has been done about this. And yet...the same government wants to increase sundry taxes and levies on the most vulnerable members of this society who can least afford it and who don't know where the next meal is coming from. Who are they fooling? Leadership is meaningful only when it is done by example. People recognize hypocrisy when they see it. 3 Likes 1 Share |
