Asaba is becoming a slum with unplanned estates everywhere. The state government should go ahead and sanitize the town just as Sanwo-Olu is sanitizing Lagos. Though the usual suspects will not wail because Delta is PDP state. 22 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: Delta Government Commences Demolition Of Illegal Structures by agabusta: 10:51pm On May 13 |
There are demolitions for unapproved developments, recovery of private/govt land and to pave way for public infrastructure like roads, bridges, airports, railways, etc for the greater benefit of the public. I've not seen that major infrastructural development of govt that does not involve takeover and compensation of people's properties. Even the FCT itself was done on people's ancestral land. People should dig the history of big roads and some airports we are enjoying today and will discover someone or a family suffered some form of loss for it in the past. Compulsory acquisition of land by the government for public use or for overriding public interest is well covered by the Land Use Act. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Yesterday, musa camp was demolished. Today would be the turn of 74 junction. People were packing properties overnight. I felt pity for them. The worse of all would be happening to a man call Baba Niel. He built his house years ago,and last month he completed his hotel. All would be demolished, His wife has been crying. Everyone in 74 junction has been moody as if someone died. Hausa boys have been lurking around to scavenge irons. May God give them all the fortitude to bear their loss. 10 Likes |

It's irkful anytime the govt decides to start demolishing properties, as if they were not aware when such places were been developed. |
