The government is desperate. Because for over two months the committee didn't meet, all of a sudden they had a meeting on Wednesday and call for another on Thursday. Maybe president tinubu want to announce the minimum wage on it before May 29

anything short of 150k monthly will not cut it.... living on 5k daily is even very difficult.

If you have minimum wage of 600k so how much will the head of civil service take as monthly salary.I think this madness should be narrowed to sanity, ask what is sane and insist on govt providing mass transit transport and discount markrt for all Nigerians and the problem is over. angry

And you think 48k being offered by the federal government is very sane?

Please try to understand that labour is not insisting on 600k. It's just a strategy to get a better deal from the government.

During the last minimum wage negotiations, labour proposed 150 to 200 k, but at the end of the day, Buhari sighed 30k and it' was
accepted.

48k is slave salary and Nigerian workers are not slaves. Anyone supporting the government on this is very self centered and selfish.

Why are your brain cells dead?
Mass transit? Stupid diversion of the government since the military era, anytime they increase fuel price.

It is not all about 615k, as a government you have to tell us the amount you are willing to pay your lowest worker to sustain him or her , splitting it to
Education
Transportation
Clothing
Housing
Food
Health etc .
If you want to pay N50k to your worker, how much is the food ? Remember a plate of food is now 1k ..3 square meals a day is 3k( unless you are saying your worker will not eat and carry his empty stomach to work for you
What about housing , clothes transportation etc
If you give pay workers N50k that means you will feed them three times daily , provide a comfortable house, clothe them, give them transportation, with free electricity etc

Anything less than 200k is a NO!

so who will fight for us in the private sector? MLC only for government workers? Only for civil servants? Millions of us are suffering in the chinese and lebanese companies working all day, no day off, no leave and millions as casual workers. We are also Nigerians too. School cert holders and Polytechnic, university graduates on salary of 30 - 40k a month. NLC, TUC should come to our aid.
