Nigeria should be a destination for quality healthcare in Africa! Thank God that we have
a state like Lagos who is at least working hard to attract people from other countries to seek healthcare in Nigeria.

I wish that the federal government and other state governments could follow the footsteps of Lagos. We can add health tourism as a source of foreign exchange aside crude oil.
Nigeria has the potentials! We have the human resources! Our healthcare professionals shouldn't be trained for western countries to headhunt while our people die like chicks!

What do India and China have in terms of human resources that we don't have? All we need is to show the political will and do the right thing. A very strong regulatory framework and overhaul of the leadership architecture of our healthcare system would help get things going. Also investment in medical and pharmaceutical research and in manufacturing of drugs and medical consumables are sine qua non in revamping the healthcare system.

Let's do it! We can! It is a very big shame that we only train healthcare professionals for other countries to use and improve their own healthcare system while ours is nothing to write home about!

The time to change the status quo is now!!!
