√x + √x = 8 2√x = 8 Divide both sides by 2 √x = 4 Square both sides x = 16 modified: I missed the questions √x + √x = √8 2√x = √8 Divide both sides by 2 √x = √8/2 Square both sides x = 8/4 x = 2 2 Likes |

thesolutions:√8 is not 4. That is the mistake in your math. Another simple way is to do it is solve from the answer √8 is √4 x √2 meaning 2√2 And you know 2√2 certainly means √2 + √2 The end. 2 Likes |

NwaNimo1: You are wrong....you can square root each term of a binomial expression. ✓x + ✓x = ✓8 2✓x = ✓8 Square both sides (2✓x) ² = (✓ ² 4x = 8 Divide both sides by 4 x = 2 3 Likes |

X=? √? =? Assuming? = π Then √π =√22/7 Multiply both sides by the coefficient of π X=22/7*22/7 X = 484/49 Using Graham's paralegal logic X= 8/ 4 So therefore X= 2 2 Likes |

EzeChukwuIgbo:Wrong! √x + √x = 2√x Therefore, 2√x = √8 Square both sides. (2√x)^2 = (√8 )^2 Note: √ = 1/2 (i.e, the term inside the square root is raise to power half) => 4x = 8 x = 8/4 = 2 1 Like |

√x + √x = √8 2√x = √ 8 Divide both side by 2 to isolate √x √x = √8/2 Simplify the right side √x = √4 x2 /2 = √4 x √2 /2 = 2√2/2 = √2 √x = √2 Square both side x = 2 1 Like |

NwaNimo1:Failed. Square everything means square whole left side and square whole right side. Not square the elements. -------------- (√x + √x)² = (√8 )² (a + b)² = a² + 2ab + b² = 8 => (√x)² + 2(√x)(√x)+(√x)² = 8 => x+ 2x + x = 8 => 4x = 8 => x = 2 |
