stop lying through your teeth! Gnabry was excellent and a lot here never wanted him sold particularly after that international competition. Wenger had to sell him cos he couldn’t guarantee him a starting position. Guen was not close to what Gnabry was at same age. Bring a post where peeps criticized Gnabry u liar!
I advise you start ignoring these keyboard pundits

I will be civil in my response.

Probably you thought Gnabry was excellent. But guys like Tony Pulls felt he wasn't good enough. So many players have been termed not good enough until someone else who saw something good decided to harness it.

Many fans including you think Guen is not good enough. Assuming Emery followed your line of thought we would not see the other qualities Guen has started showing this season. He undoubtedly has been our best midfielder so far this season. This speaks volumes.

Someone like Nelson may currently be under fire, but good coaches will not deny the qualities he can bring out when properly managed.

Remember De Bruyne was a Chelsea reject. But today he is bossing the PL. I am sure a lot of Chelsea fans regret not keeping him.

Serge Gnabry wasn't good enough to play for West Brom. But he is good enough to play for Bayern.

The point is for me, as long as a player makes conscious efforts to improve his game, try things even if he fails, I will always give that player a chance.

No player is the perfect player. Everyone has a weakness- some are slow, some lack stamina, some can't stay in position, etc. But these are not what I am looking out for, I try to find their strengths instead.

Xhaka can't run, but he can pass.
Ozil can't defend, but he creates chances.
Auba can't dribble but he positions himself well to score.
Giroud is one legged but good with his head.
Guen may not be Modric, but he has potentials. That's what I am looking at, and that's what I want us to see. Funny thing is that, he always gets positive reviews else where except for you lots. And because you and sod can type, you fill the thread with negative insinuations.

I used to think I'm the one fooling myself here until I saw many positive remarks on YouTube, Instagram, blogs and others..

Check front page on match day, even on rival threads, you see them praising the lad.

AFTV crew who see games live koro koro with their eyes at Emirates and orther grounds are appreciating and looking for ways to guide the boy to success and axe the problem (Xhaka)..

So don't let one cokaine and Alomo people give you headache here cheesy

how’s what I’ve been saying different from what was said in that video? Another reason I asked what style is Emery playing cos his signings can’t execute what peeps say his style is.
He also mentioned Guen and Xhaka as culprits. But because I’m not named Lee Dixon I hate Guen.

Most games Guen is most times seen escorting opposition into our box while Xhaka ain’t fast enough to cover for him but we’ll choose to blame defenders that the midfielders always expose and get them overwhelmed with a lot to contend with.

Next game Emery starts them in midfield again, doing same thing expecting a different result. Only a fool does that!

Bro... if you read my posts... I've always said we've an issue with the midfield...

With Wenger it was defence... With Emisery it was midfield... Reason why I will never blame Guen is cos... There's no tactics... And if he doesn't push... We no go see ball play.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Jencejyde(m): 10:23am On Oct 02, 2019
Great thing someone pointed out the Athletico game here and how they were super organized off the ball. Athletico is no small team but they do both sides of the game especially the defensive side with such aplomb even Jao felix with the 113 million price tag was defending like mad off the ball, and that's why they will hardly get beaten by any ridiculous scoreline. Again someone rightly pointed out saying,"what do our players do in training? what is the coach impacting on them? Is it poor tactics from the coach or the players just unable to interprete what the coach wants?

I must say again that the game against united is the best i have seen of this team off the ball even though its not there yet but lots of improvement. They need to build up on that especially against stronger opponents. If i see this organization consistently then for me its one step in the right direction. We have quality going forward but the organization from the back to the midfield will ensure that forward thinking players worry less about having to chase back all the time and can focus more on decisive movement in an around the opponents box with assurance that they will not only get good service but the oppositions chances of any counter will be quickly scoffed.

I am a fan of pushing up to defend high as long as the awareness and compact solidity between midfield and defense is their. Pep does this all the time with all his teams. Players can be taught and must be able to execute but alas i wonder what is happening at Arsenal.

Thats why Saka for me was excellent at united. He played like a well drilled and coached player to simple instructions. Saka would be a delight for a Simeone due to his defensive cover on the wings. At this juncture i would not mind Martinelli at RW since he has similar off the ball qualities to Saka.

Discipline is key in staying compact and those two young players in my opinion looks like the have the right attitude and willing to be disciplined in this regard. Surely their covering of defensive zones off the ball will help us greatly and i wonder why the senior ones can't do something this simple?

If u read my statement I’ve never blamed Guen, it’s even some that go as far as pinning some goals conceded on him I don’t do that but it’s fair since some lash Xhaka and Luiz for doing same.

My point then that the Guen fan boys didn’t comprehend was that Emery was not playing to the guy’s strength and I pointed out the weaknesses in his game which in turn robs off on our overall play. Same can be said about Xhaka.

We excelled first half of last season where Ramsey partnered Xhaka cos the former could cover very fast while Xhaka stays back and it was a 4-2-3-1 we played then.

Guen can’t do what Ramsey does and we can’t say because he’s trying we should keep doing same thing over and over at the detriment of team results. What happens when he finally hits it and decides to leave we sign another Guen and keep faith in him and the cycle continues are we a mid table/ feeders club?

Why I’m particularly pissed this season was the midfield problem was obvious after Ramsey got injured and Guen started playing week in week out with Xhaka last season. I’d expected Emery’s priority in the TF would be to fix that knowing Ramsey would leave but no he went to sign Pepe at over 70k like we had problems scoring last season.

I was expecting to see more maturity in that midfield this season and not Xhaka and Guen cos they are simply not good enough!

Reason you’ll hardly see me join the bandwagon of “blame the defenders”, cos our defenders are the most exposed. You need to take a wholistic approach when analysing a game but most peeps here would rather view from the angle where the last mistake was made.

The midfield set up is utterly useless, lacks creativity going forward and does little to nothing in shielding the defence but for some reasons Some think Tierney and Bellerin who play as Full-backs will solve the midfield woes.

Baba, I agree with the holistic approach you suggested and the fact that our midfield set up lacks creativity and organization which makes us look cautious and pedestrian with the ball. However, I will not absolve the players in our back 4 for their role in all the mess. We have 2 very experienced players whom I call " Senior Clowns" and 2 full backs I refer to as "Junior Clowns" but many choose to call all 4 defenders. Thus far, Luiz and Sok have had theatric moments you can only see in the theatre and those moments came down to individual errors, almost a case of doing the same the over and over again and getting the same negative result.

These guys look like rookies at the back and even when the game looks good, they make me sweat whenever the ball goes back to them or opponents approach them. I give them a break sometimes because they had never played together until Arsenal but for their age and level of experience, it would not be too much to ask that they are more coordinated, communicate better and commit fewer individual errors. Take the 1st goal Spuds scored in the first half for instance. Sok gets drawn into challenging for an aerial ball in our own freaking half, he loses the challenge and just strolls backs as Eriksen hits the rebound from Leno's save. I don't want to mention more than this example so it does not look I am picking on them but they should be doing better. There is no accountability and communication between them and that is why Niles and Kola can lose concentration when it matters most and everyone just continues like it is normal.

Again, I am not absolving the manager from all this mess but our back 4 have conceded some of the stupidest goals anyone can imagine from individual errors.

You should be cos there was nothing uncivil about telling u that u lied. I was only saving u from the path of destruction which is hell. From ur post u’ve accepted nothing of such happened that’s a first step to redemption.

That said, I never said Guen would improve or not I’m more concerned about the present midfield play that has been abysmal which he’s also a part of then someone brought a stat of him completing more passes than anyone on the pitch, then I pointed that most of the passes where backwards and sideways and except you are Sokratis u are more likely to complete a pass in your own half than in the opponent’s half.
The less said about that ridiculous 1 tackle in 90mins for a DM the better.

It was all these megedefegede stats that y’all kept bringing up that made peeps talk more about Guen not that he was the worst player on the pitch.

For Standard Liege, here's my team. I would like Martinez to give Leno another run and make Emery more confused. I have a lot of confidence in that guy. Again I am not going to give up on AMN, he should get an opportunity to show that he can improve. Lack of competition may have caused a lag, but he must get a chance, but Bellerin should start to gain fitness. Saka should get more game time as well as Nelson and Martinelli.

Give Guendouzi a rest, he's a big boy now. Torriera and Willock and Smith-Rowe can have their chance as well as Ozil. Can't understand why Emery relegates Ozil, such talent. I mean maximise his strengths rather than focus on his weaknesses.

Saka............ Martinelli.......... Nelson
......................... Ozil..........................
......... Willock ........... Torriera.........
Tierney.. Holding.. Chambers..Bellerin

Similar to mine, just that I feel Mustafi deserves a spot.

Saka should be sub off for Pepe, Saka is a big boy to, Cesc I heard praised him and Guen.. cool

Pepe should come in around 65thmint, he is competing with Nelson, that's his level for now cheesy

Also let's see what Niles can do in midfield, maybe Balogun also.
