Baba they did not sacrifice their ability to remain competitive for any of those players. Those guys earned their right to be core players because of the level of quality and impact they brought. Assimilating a system for such a long period is not easy and it only supports my thoughts about their level of intelligence and maturity.
We on same page here.

The question is can Arsenal replicate that?

My point exactly! Saka is investing a lot of work in the development of his talent, ensuring he is an impact player and the evidence is on the pitch for everyone to see. As for others, na touch and go.. you are not sure of what to see from Nelson, Nketiah, ANM or Willock on match day.
And they are the English hyped ones.

Saka will be a good addition to the Super Eagles. Its like he rewatches his matches and be like

Mehn when last i shoot at goal, make i cut in fire ball test this guy jare

And he did that vs BHA. Lol

Or

When last i assist Pepe o....

And gbam he targets the guy. Lol

Willock be seeing Auba and still go selfish

I think this is where the seniority supposed to be.

Auba should reprimand such being a senior player. Forget cool guy. Lol

When all these small small boiz start?

Do you see anyone here celebrating our last victory? If anything, everyone here has slammed their attitude and pressing for accountability and discipline.

Being cautious, are we? Y'all shouldn't even have cautious hope. Arsenal is hopeless grin grin

Nwanne’m

Xavi, Iniesta, Busquet, Puyol, Pique, Alves and Messi transitioned through the La Masia and became tremendous quality every team wanted. They were not mere/ ordinary players and that was why they became core pieces of Barcelona and Spain. Don’t forget Pique was sent out to Manchester United for a period to gain some valuable experience and that convinced Barcelona he was one for the long term.

Since that core group, Barcelona have been unable to replicate that level of talent transition into their first team. Heralded talents like D. Suarez were sent to Arsenal, today he is at Celta Vigo, same for H. Bellerin, now I hear Arthur is being exchanged for Pjanic. Today, only Pique, Messi and maybe Fati are the academy players in the regular 11 and don’t forget Pique and Messi are both playing their last legs. If these guys, including the ones above did not have the quality to make immediate impact and make the team competitive, Barcelona would have not have kept them and made them core pieces all in the name of culture.

I had been watching Saka for a year at the academy before he joined the first team, my receipts are littered in my previous posts. Like you said, we have to do everything we can to ensure he stays and part of that is surrounding him with quality players that can make an impact. Saka’s decision to stay will not be because of Nketiah/ Willock/ Nelson or any academy prospect that transitioned with him. He already knows this and that is why he is taking his time to make a decision. The other kids in the academy can see through the history of the club that there is an immense opportunity at Arsenal to transition into the first team if they work hard and retain their place can improve on their quality like Saka has done.

I am all for keeping these kids but not just because they are Arsenal products and can continue the culture but because they will make us competitive against any team and will command a first team shirt if they leave for another team. It’s time for us to be pragmatic and stop being emotional about our young players. We have to patient but realistic about them also.
The emboldened cannot be argued. At least it's common sense.

But my point is besides quality, don't you think playing together for a long time can make significant gains with the players not as individuals but collectively as a group
see Ajax as case study

Quality alone is not enough. Real Madrid of the same era went for Galaticos and practically won nothing.

Abeg, all those people wen dey hope for Partey and P. Coutinho, abeg, I say make I tell una say we don post 27 million loss!
I expect other clubs to declare losses especially since games are being played without fans but participation in UCL can help cushion some of the losses.

I detest that boy's playing pattern. His style of play is worse than a younger Aaron Ramsey at Arsenal. Watching him at times can be really frustrating.

I just hope he doesn't turn to another Ramsey that will be allowed to stay as long as possible only to shine for one season and burn out.

Baba, the fact that you have used the Galaticos as an example shows you have construed the onus of my argument.

Arsenal Legend says half the current squad need be shipped off the team.

Auba
Pepe
Saka
Have the most contributions to goals this season alone.

These are the most important players. Unfortunately, just the last two will be the core of anything new that will be built moving forward.

The rest are dispensable. Very.

I refuse to cry about Pepe most times when others shout. I imagine him not being in the equation and where the team will be without his goals.....

Ceballos thinks his goal will endear us to him. Mo ya look away.

Out of 7games left, 4 are against 4 outta the top 5.

What can the remaining 3 matches bring

9points

7points
4 or 3 or 1??

I just came to announce to them that we have trashed Brighton on their behalf since they couldn’t. Every big club should be able to defeat Brighton without stress. Sadly Arsenal is no longer a big club. grin

When you have two world class midfielders with wuch a mix with matic again..... Arsenal midfield was totally nonexistent against BHA. Totally!!!

A Pairing of

Xhaka Partey and Ozil will demolish BHA even more than what Man U did tonight. But........
