debosky: ^^ careful what you ask for. . . . It may not make a difference. cheesy

Now Miquel is off on loan, so we truly have just 2 fit CBs going into the season, unless Wenger seriously considers Sagna a CB now.

Someone somewhere must be making sense of all this, because I'm not.

It may not make a positive difference by budging Wenger but it sure won't make a negative either since it's just a friendly warm up game. *no points dropped* cool

The transfer dealings so far don't make any sense to me. Only Wenger seems to know what he is doing, I guess in his plans, he sees LANS Vass Diaby as an integral part of his midfield and he also plans to promote some younger defenders to team A this season. sad

Personally, I think this Suarez thing is an intentional distraction. Notice how very few fans are talking about other signings? We've sold/loaned many players this season with NO replacement except Yaya.

What do you expect him to say? We will not respect Liverpol's decision? cheesy Surely you didn't expect him to say we will force Liverpool to sell?

Wenger said absolutely nothing in that interview - if the deal will happen it will happen, if not, it will not. That is as non-committal as you can get as far as a statement is concerned.

Again, this isn't about statements, it's about actions - still more than enough time to make moves if we're really interested.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by proudlysports: 12:12pm On Aug 10, 2013
There's really little we can do in this Suarez case i.e. if we want to maintain our moral stand. It's in Suarez' hands now and like AW stated, Suarez knows what we want, it's up to him now. If he hands in a transfer request, goes on strike cheesy (he did exactly same thing btw when he wanted to force Ajax to sell him to Liverpool), then they will have little choice to sell him and unfortunately for them, only Arsenal are in the race to sign him at the mo.

If we on the other hand want to throw caution to the wind, we can start by asking our players to say how Suarez is a great player and he will fit into our squad, blah blah blah and probably even 'anonymously' mail an Arsenal jersey to Suarez with his name on it cheesy (seeing that we don't have any Uruguayan international to force the jersey on him whilst on international duty)

As it is, seems like option 1 is the only way out. Whether Suarez will throw in a request is yet to be seen. My question is, how long are we prepared to wait? IMO if we were really serious, we should have publicly declared a deadline to wrap this up. Unless of course if we had no intention of signing him in the first place.

That Rambo pass!

Meanwhile I doubt if I will see Zela play today. The physicality of these Man City players would be too much.

Good job Koscielny!

Considering we've got Cazorla as the only established midfielder and the way Wilshere has been kicked today, we may see one of Zelalem, Hayden or Perez before the end of the game
