There's no Arsenal fan on this planet earth that expected the Gunz to go there seeking a victory. We just wanted to qualify while our best players were rested for the league. Since we play in a real league it is important to keep the gunz fresh for a real league title challenge. 1 Like |

dayokanu: Where is Pata-Aki/ PawpawIf I descend on you now, you will start behaving like a warapa patient. 2012, Chelsea were 6th on the EPL with a coach no one had any reckoning with, yet remind us where was ur useless club again? Fast forward to 2013, Man shitty brought a Team C to Allianz Arena and disgraced your unbeaten record on your soil with ur team A. Remind us what position is ur useless team occupying on that useless burnthisleaguedown table? It is sheer mental foolishness, given the odds of play and strong group that Arsenal was grouped in, to think Arsenal qualifying out of the group stages is disgraceful. Dayo-akamu, your german soil and ur german teams, are what we consider as training facilities. If in doubt, ask Boateng Alago! |

I did not expect a win but a POINT so we can avoid the big dawgs However all credit to the team as I did not even think we would qualify when the draws were made They have done a yeoman's job superbly |

dayokanu: Just because a team bend dan for us no mean say them useless. Bayern Bend dan, spread leg for us for Allianz but we still commend them after everything. The problem be say Marseille could not even put up a fight in a single game. |

Pataki: A german team topped the group of death and Arsenal were left to be sniffing asses as usual City finished second in the group behind Bayern. Arsenal finished second behind Dortmund These 2 teams are still slaves to their German lords 2 yrs in a row, Arsenal would finish second to a german team |

Now the dust has settled a bit, I'm quite relieved we qualified. Knowing Arsenal's history, it wouldn't have been surprising for us to conjure up a new first when it comes to getting eliminated from the group stages. That said, an analysis of our overall performance in the group stage shows one main deficiency - a shortage of goals (and even attempts on goal). I think the game against Marseille was key - with such an early goal, we should've thumped them 4/5-0. With that type of result, we would've had less pressure in the final game and would probably have still qualified top of the group. Giroud is a good striker, but the need to mix things up is very apparent, and that's probably where the telling gap lies in terms of overall squad quality compared with the likes of Citeh. I know TW14 is just feeling his way back and Poldi is also close to a comeback, but the need for another striker is more evident than ever before. We will need another striker to pick up Giroud's slack - be it someone already in the squad or a new buy. Other than that, we can have few complaints about the group stage - if Chelski and United were in this same group, their group stage performances would've seen them eliminated. Now time for the boys to recharge ahead of Citeh on Saturday. |
