Rubbish talk here - at 4-2 you try to score. Simple. You don't being on a DM to solidify things unless you want to settle for the loss.

Arteta would've been pulverised by Yaya and Fernandinho. . . .heck even Barkley destroyed him last week and some dreamers think he'd have done something against Citeh.

The loss was down to stupid individual mistakes - from Koscielny, to Wilshere (twice) to Ozil to Per. Packing the midfield or playing Arteta would've changed nothing except he played instead of Wilshere.

Dunno if Arteta would've told Wilshere not to lose the ball stupidly in midfield repeatedly, or told Wilshere to track his fullback, or tell Per and Kos to react in the box for the first and fourth goals.

Those talking about midfield are jokers - this game was lost off crosses, giving the ball away and failures in the box.

With the amount of minutes some of our players are accumulating we might end up shooting ourselves in the foot, Ozil needs some rest time, so does Giroud..

we got punished for mistakes we escaped with in the past, trying to build from the back against a team that is pressing high up the pitch, fatigued legs are synonymous to loose passing..

I thought the midfield did the best they could technically but were bullied off the ball which I doubt Arteta could have changed either ways, we were careless with the ball and we paid dearly yesterday, I hope Wenger reads the handwriting and this serves as a wake up call for the team, yes we lost but I think we could have also scored more goals as we created chances and looked dangerous each time we attacked..

I have always known TV5 would get a chance, I think this is it, as much as it disrupts the rhythm between Per and Kos, I think the latter also needed some time off the pitch.

A week I would want to forget in a hurry.

By next weekend arsenal might be out of champions league already and 3rd or fourth on the league depending on the out come of Liverpool and spurs today. I hope this is not going to be last eight seasons when arsenal are outa all competition by Jan.

At the moment enjoy your oga at the top.

Sorry I don't have a crystal ball to analyze a game before it is played.

It's obvious some of them are mentally drained as well.
Good thing we don't have to play the league cup at least the boys will get some rest before next game.
Then we have to play three games in one week.

In the past few seasons, AW has always found a way to make us play better in the second half of the season. I pray same happens this season.

Nothing to do with fatigue I'm afraid - how many games has JW played in the past week to be fatigued? Yet he was culpable for two or three goals all by himself.

Ozil made a mistake with the pass to Flamini, let's say that's no different from the mistake Yaya did when he got robbed in midfield so that cancels out.

But when each of your CBs makes a terrible mistake in the box and one midifielder is abysmally careless with possession/not tracking his fullback, it is nearly criminal.

Two goals were down to Per and Kos failing to do the basics - clear the ball and ask questions later. In the first, Kos was waiting for someone else to clear, in the second, Per didn't act when he had full view of what was happening and saw TV5 would never clear.

Frankly, it's the return of the abysmal individual errors that used to cost us so badly. That's why Wenger said we gave them 5 of the 6 goals. Let's hope it's a one off and they clear their heads and refocus over the next 7 days before Chelski.

As we won't be taking part in midweek games, permit me to provide update on youth teams

The "star studded" U19s have also qualified for the second round of the Champions league. Although the lost (Rubino, Tutino) 2 -1 (Akpom) to Napoli in the last game, it was enough to send them through alongside Napoli both teams on 9 points and Dortmund crashing out with 8 points. Marseille U19 like their senior counterparts finished last with 7 points.

Playing in a similar group to the senior team, they needed a win or draw in the last away game to Napoli U19 to qualify for the next round. Losing 3-0 to Napoli and a win for Borussia Dortmund against Marseille would have sent the YoungGuns out of the competition. They came into the game on the back of three straight draws and two wins.

Draws for second round games will take place later today.

The U18s on the other hand have been poor so far. They are currently bottom of the youth league with 9 points from 15 games.

BTW there's a Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi with the youth set up. He joined us last September from Charlton Athletic.
