Spy360: Go and give CR7, Bale and Benzema ice cream so they can win a treble already. I cannot tire to keep sticking it to you overzealous praise-givers. Which manager will ever be good enough? If Pep had won a treble with Bayern his first season you'd have said the same things: he is overhyped, the Bayern squad was already good. Jupp already did it. I'd give them ice cream and la di da. Now that he hasn't won the same treble he is now overrated. Shay Wenger that didn't win a UCL with his unbeaten team is overrated too or nah? |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Eruditor: 3:01pm On Feb 08, 2016 |
Spy360: What Bank did Pep break in his first season at Barca? I put it to you that you will shift the goal post again next season if he wins the league easily with City and gets to the semis of the UCL but is beaten by Bayern. I bet you'd say City already had a great team and that if Pep was good he should have not lost to Bayern and what not. It's this vacillating manner of ranking managers that just keeps AFC wallowing in mediocrity. Does Ozil alone not cost more than the entire Leicester team? So why is great Arsene not topping that league since anyone can win anything with great and expensive players? |

kokaneprodigy: You will use your own overintelligence to trap yourself. If signing big players is no guarantee of winning the EPL, will you finally give him his credit when/if he signs "big players" and still wins the EPL? Answer on a tablet. |

Eruditor:If he does, good but it sure won't be an easy ride for him in epl that's my point. But do you think he'll have the monopoly of big players in EPL compared to la liga and Bundesliga? Answer on a phablet. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by raumdeuter: 5:53pm On Feb 08, 2016 |
Spy360 I didnt bother to copy the long post But the error you are making is thinking its easy winning with stars. In big clubs you have to manage egos and play a certain way The Ranieiri you are telling us you respect now coached about 10 big clubs and couldnt win a league title in any of them Inter Juventus, Fiorentina, Parma, Valencia, Chelsea, Atletico Roma all these big clubs Ranieri coached he never won a league title, yet he's looking like he would win a league with leicester If it was easy to win at big clubs shouldnt Ranieri have won before this year I remember when Benitez handed a league winning Valencia team to Ranieiri, They gave him lots of money too, He spent on what he wanted buying big players he ended up getting sacked after crashing out of the CL after Adriano and martins disgraced him 5-1 at Mestalla and Steau Sent him out of Europa Thats an example of a coach who failed with big clubs and succeding with small clubs If you want more examples check Moyes Martinez, AVB see how they did when they went to bigger clubs 4 Likes |

kokaneprodigy: Which monopoly of good players did he have in Barcelona as an example? Did Madrid not have Ronaldo, Kaka Ozil at that time? Wenger cannot win the league with Stars like Ozil Sanchez etc, if Ranieiri or Pocchetino should win, would we agree that they are better than Wenger? |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Nobody: 6:49pm On Feb 08, 2016 |
raumdeuter:The fact that you were able to use only real madrid as their competitor says it all, I can list 6 clubs that'll wrestle players with him in EPL. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Eruditor: 7:02pm On Feb 08, 2016 |
kokaneprodigy: There is no monopoly. Some players just like some clubs better than others. Arsenal would have matched Bayern pound for pound for Lewandowski, but Lewa preferred Bayern. Bayern would have matched Barca for Neymar but he preferred Barca. Man United could have outbidded Arsenal for Ozil, but Mesüt had already been in talks with Wenger by 2010 (even before he went to RM) so he already preferred Arsenal. Alexis and Liverpool/ Arsenal etc. The list is endless. There are some players that will agree to come to city only because Pep is there as the coach. So really, there is no monopoly. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by raumdeuter: 7:02pm On Feb 08, 2016 |
kokaneprodigy: List the 6 clubs that would wrestle players from man City E.g Man city bought Debruyne for 80M last summer, list the 6 clubs that can afford to pay the 80M for KdB |

Give Pocchentino kids and he will finish 5th, take them to Europa and sell them to United. Give LvG kids and he will promise you the title and UCL but end up finishing 10th then blame it on Woodward. Give Klopp kids and he will beat Man City 4-0, draw 3-3 with Arsenal, lose 0-3 to Watford and leave you with a letter of apology. Give Mourinho kids and he will resign, then begs Abram for a job at Chelsea because he sees Terry is still there but Emenalo won't let him. Give Guardiola kids and he will complain of brain gay, go on sabatical and return when the kids are grown. Give Wenger kids and he will finish 4th, then sell the players to Barcelona for £25m each and ask for more kids. Give Fergie kids and he will give you a title after 2 seasons. #UpFergie |

raumdeuter: Eruditor:Let me make it simpler by asking you this, How many top players will leave EPL for Spain and go to a team other than real madrid or Barca? Or would leave EPL for Germany and go to a team other than Bayern. But top players leaving Germany or Spain for England have variety of options with man U, Chelsea, Arsena,, man city, liverpool all having the ability to purchase and afford their wage. When Pep said he wanted to come to England some said it could be Chelsea or city others said Arsenal or Man U. If he was going to Spain we'll all know it will be either real madrid or Barca, if Germany we'll all say Bayern and we'll all be right. My point is the game will be different in England cos he can't monopolise transfer market, cos no monopoly of attraction as in Germany and Duopoly as in Spain. 2 Likes |

kokaneprodigy: Which was why I used debruyne as an examples how many EPL teams can afford to buy Debruyne for 80M or diMaria for 80M Do you think Arsenal can afford Debruyne for 80M Going back to your example if Neymar is to go to EPL or say Lewandoski or Muller is to go to EPL they would cost at least 100M. How many clubs can afford them in EPL? Can Arsenal afford to pay 120M or Liverpool? Players go to clubs that are succesful in recent times where they can win trophies or go to clubs that can pay them stupid money Does Arsenal or Liverpool fit into this? Can any of them pay Neymar, Muller or Lewy 100M? In Arsenal history they only have 2 players Sanchez and Ozil over 30M, Atletico Madrid Griezman, Jackson and Falcao all over 30M |

raumdeuter:The question should be will not can, cos they can afford it. It all boils down to board's decision. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by raumdeuter: 10:05pm On Feb 08, 2016 |
kokaneprodigy: Thats the same for every football club. At least top 4 top clubs in every league can afford such players the question is does it make sense to the board? |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 12:47am On Feb 09, 2016 |
raumdeuter:So for all your knowledge of English football this is what you can come up with just to win an argument. #Smh If this is how you think then its a pity, I will never accept any of your opinions even if they sound right. You were just told that about 8 EPL clubs are in the top bracket of rich clubs and you talk of who can sign Neymar? So in your head among all clubs in England only Man City can sign Neymar? Or are you hiding facts just to confuse the situation? Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Man City can all afford to sign players worth £100m if those players become available. KdB only moved to Man City because they wanted him not because others couldn't afford him. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by An0nimus: 8:26am On Feb 09, 2016 |
^^ They can afford it but their boards will most likely not agree to such moves. Looking at recent history in the EPL, only ManCity and maybe ManUtd boards can go that length. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 1:24pm On Feb 09, 2016 |
An0nimus:Rather its based on more than one factor, the willingness of the player and the usefulness of the move; you don't want to sign a player for £80m just to make a Europa league place. The main issue here is if they can afford it. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by raumdeuter: 2:16pm On Feb 09, 2016 |

raumdeuter:Do you know how much China's Jinseung paid for Alex Texeira? And that they were willing to sign Oscar from Chelsea? We are not talking about a parody, we are talking about what happens on a consistent basis. Newcastle spent more on transfers than the Bundesliga this January. Now that's spending power. |

Spy360: In 2013 Monaco spent more than most EPL clubs. Any club can spend huge money Betis broke the world record for Denilson did they have more money than Barcelona when they did?, Zenit have spent big recently same with Newcastle spent more than Real madrid, Barcelona Bayern Man Utd in January means what exactly? |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 9:36pm On Feb 09, 2016 |
raumdeuter: Real Betis' record deal for Denilson was a one off event. Ever since how many top players have they bought? We are talking about clubs paying for big players consistently. They don't have to be record deals; clubs who shop in the best markets. Monaco can't spend much anymore due to FFP. Even if they do, their money actually belong to Qatar. Lets not deviate, my point is that there are more clubs in England who spend big than in other countries of Europe. Swansea signed Ayew, West Ham signed Payet. They were the best players for Marseille. |
