In this video, we take you through the dramatic and impactful demolition of the Alabarago Market in Lagos. Once a bustling hub of commerce, Alabarago Market has been a central part of the community for decades. This monumental event marks the end of an era and the beginning of new opportunities for development in the area

LAGOS TASKFORCE SERVES REMOVAL NOTICE TO OCCUPANTS OF ILLEGAL STRUCTURES AT ALABA RAGO

The Lagos State Taskforce has served a removal notice to squatters and occupants of shanties and illegal structures at Alabarago in Ojo Local Government Area of the State, directing them to vacate the area immediately.

This comes after a previous notice was served to the occupants of the illegal structures on the 19th of May 2022, advising them to move out of the settlement which had been marked for demolition by the State Government.

The Chairman of the State Task Force, CSP Shola Jejeloye described the State of habitation in the area as deplorable and not fit for human occupancy due to the unhygienic activities and closeness of the shanties to the canal and drainage system in that axis. He emphasised that the notice served to them two years ago still stands and will be enforced soon.

He said, Illegal traders, occupants and miscreants should be ready to leave this place any moment from now. We have served them eviction notice previously to vacate this place but they have defied the instructions of the Government by still being here. Some of the occupants here believe the notice served two years ago no longer stands but I want to assure them that nothing has invalidated the notice and they should be prepared for demolition any minute from now”.

Jejeloye assured Lagosians that no stone will be left unturned till environmental degradation is completely stamped out of the State, reiterating the commitment of the Lagos State Task Force to enforce strict compliance to environmental laws as enshrined in the THEMES Plus agenda of the State Government.

You don't live there, do you?

That place is a mess. As at tomorrow, only the mosque will be left standing.

If it was a market dominated by south eastern people, Peter Obi would have released 2 tweets by now. They would have been shouting victimization. Cry babies of Nigeria.

Reno writes on the hypocrisy of Peter Obi

Parents of Nigerian children in the Southeast are facing a dilemma as close to 300,000 students may not write their WAEC exams as IPOB is threatening them over the May 30, 2024 exam date, which IPOB wants postponed for coinciding the 57th anniversary of the defunct rebel Republic of Biafra. And Peter Obi has said NOTHING. Would Peter Obi and the beautiful Oby Ezekwesili be this silent if this were happening in Lagos, Kano, Ibadan, or Sokoto?

Peter Obi seizes every opportunity to attack the Federal Government as long as the issue he is complaining about occurs outside the Southeast. But when it happens in Igboland, he will chop and clean mouth.

Four days ago, he spoke up on the Banex Plaza closure. Five days ago, he condemned the insecurity in Northern Nigeria. Last month, he attacked the Tinubu administration over the Landmark Beach demolition. Six weeks ago, he lied that Tanzania has better electricity infrastructure than Nigeria. But he cannot speak on this significant issue affecting 300,000 children.

Is this not why Professor Wole Soyinka said he is unfit to lead? Can a clannish individual, who treats others differently from his own ethnicity be the right man to preside over Nigeria?

#TableShaker

akezn:
He is a private citizen.

He is not. He is a presidential candidate, a former VP candidate, Former PDP head of campaign, former governor under APGA e.t.c.

When you say others you are aware even your tribesmen do not get the kind of opportunity you see here even among you 5 ipob state ?

We can also presume the demolition in Enugu Anambra Abia is also geared at bringing your tribe down that is how foolishly many senseless clowns like you reason.

Igbos can't stay in any place and leave it as dirty as Alabarago.
We are law abiding and we keep anywhere we are clean.
If we do everything well and government still fight us we will shout and the world will hear.

Perhaps you are joking or trying to gaslight. Go to ajagbandi, Alaba, Ajegunle and all those places they are plenty in Lagos. Even in Onitsha and all over the SE, same story.
We are the most organized people in Nigeria
No doubt
If the landlord is dirty in Ajegunle
Why blame Igbos
