What Made You Question The Infallibility Of The Bible? by johnydon22(m): 12:22pm On May 31
I have heard many atheists, agnostics and irreligious people mention that they started down the rabbit hole of skepticism after reading the Bible and giving it a bit of a thought.

It may not be anything serious, something as tiny as a numerical inconsistency in biblical canon can shatter someone’s preconceived notion of biblical perfection which prompts them to start asking more profound and daring questions about everything derived from biblical canon.

What made you start asking questions?

The belief that Jesus is God turned man!

The belief that Holy Spirit is God!

The Belief that the father is God!

1 + 1+ 1= (1 x 1 X 1) = 1 (Trinity)

The three are one, coequal, coeternal, omnipotent, omniscient, etc but only the son can die!

Sin against the Holy Spirt may not be forgiven!

I found out in the Hausa Bible! Jesus turned water to Fruit-Juice not wine! As Hausa man no dey drink wine!

The only reason i started questioning the Bible is the first time i heard the word "CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS" I knew through reading the Bible that Jesus discouraged his disciples from being active in paramilitary services so i kept wondering how a group could call themselves CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS.
Are they only Christians?
If so what are they fighting for?
Will they also carry weapons and aim at people?
What will Jesus say about them if he's here? smiley

When people study a book but failed to realize the source of guidance they will make grievous blunders!

*The Bible never said Jesus is God turned man!
Rather he is God's Son. Matthew 16:13-16

*The Holy Spirit is not a person but the active force God uses to accomplish His purpose.

*God is the father of all creations as He brought us all into existence.

*There is no such word in the Bible so it was a fabrication: Trinity.

*Trinity doctrine was fabricated so it has no root in the Bible.

*Sin against the Holy Spirit simply means when someone speaks against what he or she knows very well that only God's active force can make it happen, that means the person is never going to support whatever God does that is why Jesus said it's an unforgivable sin.

*Fruit wine is alcoholic when fermented.

I refused to question it back when I believed. I could see the discrepancies but I waved it away so it wouldn't disturb my faith. Now that I no longer have to do that it looks so glaring I wonder why I was determined to ignore those discrepancies.

What Christians?

A Unitarian Christian and Jehovah witness will support me that 1+1+1= 3, and that their God is one not three!

A Trinitarian will try to prove his own...

In the end i will end up more confused than before!

Nothing really, the Bible is not a novel, neither is it a scientific textbook. Every wording is believed by Faith with the help of the holy Spirit. So if you keep on looking for discrepancies and error it will take an eternity because God the author never made it a common book. You could go read Harry Potter if u bored.

But seriously, the word incarnate (Yeshua) has Fulfilled all written and unwritten aspects of Scripture by his death and resurrection. You choose to believe or not is your own cup of tea.

But all men must give account of his actions or inactions in this present realities.

You are a Jehovah witness who doesn't believe in trinity.
The majority of Christians are trinitarians and will do all they can to find trinity everywhere in the Bible!

Jesus turned water to wine in the Bible. It is not Grape Juice but wine. Calling wine Grape juice is deceit to capture the unsuspecting Hausas!
Hausas culturally detest wine! Is Grape juice same as wine? Why not Orange Juice?

Ruwan inabi = Grape Juice not wine

Please ask anyone to show you where the word "TRINITY" is found written in the Bible.

As for wine it is made from Grape fruit only when fermented that it becomes alcoholic!

Do you understand Hausa?

Grape is Inabi! Ruwa is Juice (or water)!

Did Jesus turn water to wine or Grape Juice?

When Hausa has another word for wine!

It's like using "omi osan" rather than "oti" in Yoruba to translate wine!

This is deceit in translation!

In some language there is no fitting word they can use for WINE that's why the only true God made provision in the Torah for His people:

You may then spend the money on whatever you desire—cattle, sheep, goats, WINE and other ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, and anything you please; and you will eat there before Jehovah your God and rejoice, you and your household. Deuteronomy 14:26

Note that WINE is mentioned and ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES so that in future times nobody can say the God of Abraham condemned Alcoholic drinks.

So it may be that in Hausa language there is no specific word for WINE so it's better to use Grape Juice after all WINE whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic is made from it.

Numerical has very little to do with faith, the Bible is not a maths textbook duh. Little wonder, your foundation was always shaky from the start.
Foolishness is questioning one existence or reality because you saw a 'discrepancy' in birth certificate. Use your God given brains.

What made you start asking questions?

i've always asked questions and more times received answers, maybe because i'm not asking foolish questions but more of sincere questions. The Bible is inspired by God and written by men. Expecting men to be God is the chief source of your folly.

Begging is discouraged in Islam except for specific categories of people in genuine need. These are those who are in debt, have suffered a disaster, or are acknowledged as destitute by their community.

The act of begging is seen as a sign of laziness and a misuse of the goodwill of others. Islam promotes self-sufficiency, hard work, and preserving one’s honor by earning a living through legitimate means.

It is my nature to question, having been educated to ask and knock and seek for understanding instead of ignorantly just believing.

Product of an education system that develops the mind, I guess. It's what those who brought Jesus to Nigeria have evolved into, and we are too, going by these sort of threads.

Antichristian or antichrist!

You don't have anything to argue about reasonably here.

1. Starting from the rear, translation is the problem here not the original text. He could use sobo or kunu. The thrust of the message is ordinary water was changed to something extra ordinary.

2.Sin against the Holy Spirit is not your problem now, you don't know the Holy Spirit, neither are you a partaker in our covenant.

3. Great is the mystery of godliness. I Time.3:16
