My Thoughts On The Recent Misadventures Of The Military In The East by kettykin: 10:50pm On May 31, 2024 |
Biafra was a breakaway state of Nigeria that existed from 1967 to 1970 that I was declared by the Igbo people, The Republic of Biafra was formally recognized by several African countries, including Gabon, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, and Zambia. The Nigerian Civil War resulted in the defeat of Biafra, and the state was reintegrated into Nigeria .Since then, there have been renewed calls for Biafran independence, leading to the formation of several separatist groups It appears there is the possibility of recognition for Biafra and Palestine as sovereign states, and the potential implications for Nigeria and the international community does not augur well for Nigeria. While some countries have recognized Palestine as a state, the international recognition of Biafra is still progressing slowly. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been advocating for independence, but the Nigerian government has maintained that the country's unity is non-negotiable. The recent attacks on soldiers and the call for regional government could be seen as a catalyst for the Biafran movement. Although the path to statehood is complex and requires international diplomatic recognition, any blunder or mistake by the military will be the biggest boost for Biafra. The United Nations General Assembly would need to consider and vote on any proposal for statehood. The process would involve negotiations, diplomatic efforts, and meeting international criteria for statehood. Is it safe to say that those pushing for Biafra are some miles ahead of Nigeria or that the recent events are just coincidence and a plus for Biafra. My thinking is that is Palestinian state is granted by UN then Biafra might not be far or if Biafra gets the odds in its favor then Biafra might be declared with Palestinian state. 1 Like |

In addition to this, most foreign countries might have gotten super intelligence about the future of Nigeria and are either divesting to other African countries for the time being. A mistake or misadventure by the military will be the greatest boost for the realization of Biafra 4 Likes |

What is the rationale behind your comparison of Palestine with a non existing Biafra? Why do you lots like comparing apples to oranges? One is a people whose land that they have occupied for over a thousand years was encroach on by Jewish refugees from Europe who had no where else to go but to be looking for where their ancestors had previously committed genocide just to usurp and occupy. The other is a people who are a part of a country where they already exploit their citizenship to access opportunities in every nook and cranny of that country, but a certain self appointed riff-raff who does not consider the democratic rights of the people, wants to use fear and terror to control the people and usurp the existing democratic leadership and constitutional representation they already have within the Nigerian state. Simply put, if Igbos want to be separated from Nigeria, the political leadership as voted by Igbos would table that demand within the allowed democratic process. Any riff-raff terrorist that wants to use terrorism to advance his own seperatist perspective and persuasion, will be put down. 5 Likes |

Let the army retaliate.. They have decided to achieve BIAFRA through brute force and disobedience. Which are approved methods internationally. So let your epistle be for Fulani Herdsmen that killed 3 OBAs and you didn't say peem.. Nonsense StOla: 3 Likes |

Kafirbigot: Who are the they? Any riff-raff constituting a nuisance to public peace would be put down. The government of Nigeria does not recognize they, but recognize those who have been elected democratically to represent the people and make demands on their behalf. Any rabid terrorist will be put down. 1 Like |

kettykin: Nigeria is not breaking up anytime soon and no country will give IPOB any diplomatic recognition because they are at most a rebel group that have no political power over the so called Biafra territory unlike the Palestenians and Hamas. On what basis will any country recognize them when we have elected political leadership that are pro united Nigeria? 1 Like |

Funny, what happened on May 30 happens all the time in the East. Security agencies have been killed in their dozens or even hundreds since IPOB formed an armed group. The last time I was in the East, I went to my family house in the town and noticed that the closest police station to my house has been burnt down. It no longer exists. I went to the village and also noticed that the closest police station to my village has been burnt down. Does that seem like a one-off occurence to you. In fact, when I was in the village, I heard that 4 soldiers were neutralized by IPOB very close to my local government. What I have noticed in all these is that the Nigerian army only make statements about the killing of their men if it was videoed and posted on social media. Most of the unpublicized killings are ignored. It is therefore fiilhardy to believe that Nigeria will soon disintegrate because some black Africans are killing themselves. Death, whether of Nigerian security agents or IPOB gunment, or even Igbos, Hausas or Yorubas don't mean a thing to the UN and the west. In fact, it may take another brutal civil war before the UN would take a serious note on any African group calling for secession. That's why I think Kanu wasn't smart when he formed ESN and made it public. Nigeria will definitely disintegrate because the Igbos have been the most vocal antagonists to the British business enterprise called Nigeria - and its disintegration could take 10, 20, 50 or even 100 years. What's obvious is that it is just a matter of time bnecause the injustice against the Igbos is a constant reminder to every generation to keep working towards an exit from the country. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Why have the Ibos refused to tell their governors, assembly men, councillors, house of representatives members, senators and federal ministers to constitutionally move for the inclusion of a referendum clause in the Nigerian constitution by amendment??......You want to have your cake and eat it?? Some of you Ipo.b fanatics have been insensitive about the attack on the military personnel on May 30th. FG as the leader of the country, even before president Tinubu has not been showing interest about the sit at home, this precise May 30th sit at home, it's as usual ignoring from FG and security operatives. The Ipob can declared sit at home to residents in their region but not to the security personnels who are just going for their normal work duty without interfering with the sit at home. If the security operatives were on mission for any encounter, the story would have been different yet my some of yoh won't let the sleeping lion to rest 7 Likes |

UCyril:Why didn't you mention Bayelsa? Any other group outside the five igbo majority states (SE) that i mentioned will not even in their rarest dream join Biafra. Rivers state is the target of Igbos, in fact, Biafra will be nothing without Rivers state. But all the 3 majority tribes in Rivers state: Ikwere, Ijaw, Ogonis, won't even dream of being part of Biafra - I mean how? Come to Akwa Ibom and Calabar, that's another hope of Biafrans that will never happen. In fact, the entire South south will be better off with their own republic than joining Biafra. People eyes don tear open now than before. In fact, every tribe would even want to be on their own as a nation than join Biafra. If you think any state outside the South East will join Biafra, then why aren't they enforcing sit at home order? Lmao! 1 Like |

UCyril:guy, port harcourt is populated by the Ijaws and anti-Biafra Ikweres, in fact, port harcourt is just the seat of the government of the state, same with Asaba. If you don't know, know it now. Biafra is now widely seen as Igbo tribal thing. SS is the only tribe that doesn't fight the government. What do you think Tompolo contract is for? It's one of the many reward for peace. Biafra is a failure in SS. |

They have ikwere people in Ohaneze Ndigbo Organization. Igbos can never be in the same country with ijaws, |

UCyril:Let me expose a secret doc for you. Nigeria as a country will divide into segments already, it just need a government that will come to make it happen. Presently on paper, Nigeria is divided into 22 proposed different nations and a certain 13 certain nations. Let me not go further but the good news for you is that SE states is a nation, the SW, Middle Belt & NW alone will produce 4 certain nations and 7 proposed nations. Bayelsa & Rivers 1 nation, etc. If Tinubu does not pass the bill after his tenure in order not to make people say that the Yorubas divided us, the next or the next next president will. It's just a matter of time and we will part ways very peacefully. |
