While this is possible and I have actually experienced improvement in my finances after I started giving and being faithful with my tithe, any pastor that repeatedly focuses on giving out of the many issues in the bible is a NO for me.

Especially giving to him or his ministry alone and not the needy or taking care of one's parents.

Pastor David Ibiyeomie's testimony of giving his entire salary to God and receiving miraculous returns is problematic and misleads believers into thinking that financial miracles can be bought. Such claims commercialize faith and exploit vulnerable congregants who may already be struggling financially.

Biblical Perspective on Giving:
The Bible teaches us about giving cheerfully and out of love, not with the expectation of receiving financial gain in return. In 2 Corinthians 9:7, it says, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." This verse underscores the importance of the intention behind giving rather than the amount or the anticipated reward.

Exploiting Faith for Financial Gain:
Promoting the idea that God rewards monetary donations with financial windfalls undermines the true essence of Christian generosity. Jesus warned against such practices in Matthew 6:24, where he states, "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." This highlights the danger of intertwining faith with financial expectations.

A Call for Discernment:
Encouraging believers to give all they have, especially when they are already struggling, is irresponsible and exploitative. It’s crucial to teach the congregation discernment and a balanced approach to giving. As 1 Timothy 6:10 cautions, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." This serves as a reminder that the pursuit of financial gain should never overshadow genuine faith and spiritual growth.

While giving is a vital part of Christian life, it should never be driven by promises of financial return. Pastors must lead by example, emphasizing the true biblical principles of generosity and service rather than perpetuating a prosperity gospel that preys on the financially vulnerable.
. God bless you and your family wonderfully for this piece.
Charlatans have been bastardizing the Bible and the message of the Bible for long.

As much as this feat is possible through faith, it becomes a gospel of Mammon if that's the centre of our gospel. I don't understand the emphasis now being devoted to giving money by pastors...they have agenda. Giving money to God and receiving reward is not a testament of spiritual growth ..that's not wht Jesus died for. Jesus desires we are one with him and bearing fruit...not fruit of money. But of spirit
What He describes is impossible through faith since God is not a lottery machine. undecided

So, relationship with God is now TRANSACTIONAL?

I wonder who listens to these thieves.

Most Nigerian pastors are charlatans. I find it funny that even the rich ones still wants to keep duping their members.

We give to God because we love him not because we want him to double whatever we are giving him.

The story is half. He should tell us how he gave God the money. I guess he is telling the member of his church to all handover their salaries to him. Its high time government moderate the deceit of these people as its done in a sane societies abroad.

Stay on the subject matter and leave the shadows. All na scope, say he has a congregation of 500 sheeples every Sunday and at least 70% of that drops 5k each, can you guess how happy the criminal will smile to the bank?
A classic case of "drop your money with God, I'll drop mine at the bank".

They are all scammers... being a pastor simply entails vigorously selling what is a lie! Yahoo boys do it too! Only your pastors do it while pretending their own lies are backed by God. lipsrsealed

1. Yes, they have! grin

2. I may have scammed people in the past but I never once pretended my scam was just justified and made righteous by God though. A scam is a crime and it is typically committed by one human being against another human being. But what your religion of Christianity does is instead attempt through its numerous interpretations( over 47,000 different denominations/cults each selling a different lie using the name of God) that its particular scam is justified, even made righteous by a God who made clear that religion has absolutely nothing to do with Him. grin
