When you are abroad making 16 euro or dollars an hour translating to about 32 thousand a year. It is about 40 million naira a year. Wow! Let us Japa for 40 millions a year no matter how qualified or better paid you are. Sell everything and move abroad jor. Until you realize that you cannot live comfortably abroad with 32k after paying 24 thousand on rent! What about gas heating, electricity, transport, clothing etc. Hardships in Naija for the poor everywhere but the better paid only want money not better life. 1 Like |

That's nonsense, but they have landed properties in highbrow areas of the cities in Nigeria. Many of them have massive investment in real estates and many more investment. Even if they decide to come back home, many will live a better life than most Nigerians who think they are doing well here. The best strategy is to make money and invest in real estate and properties. Then, return home when you feel ready. Start a business you enjoy and continue to benefit from your investments. If you plan this way, you won't regret moving abroad, and you'll still be comfortable and happy when you retire here. 16 Likes 1 Share |

A salary scale of about 2,500 euros per month is generally a reasonable pay in western europe though cost of living varies from country to country. The majority of the EU citizens are on this salary scale and are satisfied with it. The salary makes sense because as a resident you have access to free education, free or almost free healthcare and all sorts of subsidies and state financial benefits(you are NOT living on welfare). So long you like your job, 2,500 euros per month is a reasonable pay in europe. 3 Likes |

This is not 1993 when Nigerians had limited opportunities abroad. People can start with menial jobs while they work on their papers and certifications. They will later move to well paying jobs. There are millions of Nigerians in tech, doctors, HR, nurses, auditors, engineers etc in USA, Canada, UK, Germany, UAE, Australia etc. Focus on bettering your own life and stop being worried about people who ate balanced diet , slept with electricity, send their children to quality school etc. They are not responsible for the hardship or failure you are facing 🤣 13 Likes 4 Shares |

AllKnowing: Thats way off point. No one is comparing ivy-league education with income. Some Baristas in Starbucks selling coffee have degrees. My post was not for the perspicacity-challenged. |

You should be happy that those in the abroad are working. The bulk of real estate activities in Nigeria is financed by abroadians (more than 70%). So, I wonder why you are against those working abroad. Also, as Ednut stated, the days of 2004 are not the same as this year. There are many Nigerians with GOOD jobs in the abroad even in the oddest of places. The skill set, language proficiency (in non-Anglophone countries) and immigration status matter. My advice: you better focus on shining teeth with Tinubu o 4 Likes |

I wonder how some of you sit in your homes and start giving unsolicited advice. I have friends who did graduate studies in Canada, started with survival jobs, bought properties, and today, they are doing professional jobs and have forgotten their years of little beginnings. They are living the choice of life they want and are happy without praying for the basic needs of life like many of these advisers are. 4 Likes |

As somebody who grew up in Nigeria you are not the same with Americans or Europeans .You can manage yourself well with minimum wage and Within five years of staying abroad you can save and build a house and landed properties unless you go and make a mistake of marrying and having children with an American or European. You can stay 50 years and achieve nothing and become a shame to your community and laughing stock of your family’s enemies because they don’t have any mental attachment to any culture or community or African spirituality like you do as the only thing that goes on in their minds shopping, spending, gifts, vacations , empty vain things that end up as wasted years of your life |
