2024 International Day Of Environment: ASWAMA Boos, Engr Ozoemena Harps On Good Sustainability Culture Amongst Anambra Residents.

As the world celebrates her 2024 international day of the environment today, the Managing Director of Anambra State Waste Management Agency (ASWAMA) Hon. Engr Ozoemena Mike has called for more robust sensitization and engagement drive on environmental cleanliness and proper waste management in Anambra for a Sustainable, Clean, Green and Healthy Living Environment as initiated by Governor Soludo.

Speaking on this year's World Environment Day theme, "Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience," Engr Note stated that the call demonstrates the pressing need for action on environmental issues and stressed on the importance of keeping their environment and drainages clean and called for more collective approach towards achieving Governor Soludo's vision of instilling a cleaner and healthier environmental consciousness amongst it's citizens.

He commended the dexterity and sagacity of the Anambra State Governor on working to build a 21st century smart mega city of livable and prosperous Anambra State and also ceased the opportunity to salutes the unwavering dedication of the staffs of Anambra State Waste Management Agency (ASWAMA), Ministry of Environment and Ndi Anambra in working hard to safeguard and protect their environment, noting that their tireless efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste materials has significantly contributed to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for all.

"in shaping up our environment for good, there should be a total stop to the ugly trend of indiscriminate dumping of waste material on drainages and waterways, he said!"

highlighted the importance of active community engagement in best waste management practices, noting its significance in promoting sustainable living habits, and increased awareness that will leads to greater participation and co-operation from residents in maintaining clean and healthy environments, Hon. Ozoemena further urge residents to help the agency sweep away waste, sweep in sustainability, and create a world where nature and humanity thrive in harmony.
