Now wey Fulani people don over run all farm lands across northwest and centre Dem wan dey discuss this topic

Even if the law is passed, Fulani cow herders would never heed to it because they have grown bigger and more daring, unfortunately

Then they pay. It's so simple. If you don't adhere, you get arrested. So simple. Don't make it sound like something that can't be done

Let them pass it as law first, then move to creation of State Police.

State Police will do the job.

State Governors can now use their State's Police to enforce the anti open grazing law by telling his Police officers to shoot anybody seen rearing cow openly on sight.

This is the only way to stop this Fulani madness in Nigeria, and reason they don't want State Police, don't want Regional Government, don't want anything that will birth a new better Nigeria for all Nigerians.

They want Nigeria to remain a dark nation stuck in the stone age where they rear cow everywhere and kill anybody that questions them when they invade and destroy his farmland

The same Governors will use that same state police to shoot down all opposition

This is exactly why they don't want regional government If I am the governor of IMO state. cowherding would be prohibited Any person caught would have to pay us 3 million for each of the cow we would kill because all the cows would be killed. Yes all cows would he killed and he would pay 3 million per cow or face 5 years in prison for each cow
Herding shouldn't be prohibited as instead herders should be restricted to herding on their own properties instead. undecided

A better idea would be for the government to encourage local animal farming. If more local farmers went into rearing of cattle and meat production, on private property, of course, it would go a long way to curbing the supposed dependence problem. undecided

The more important thing is to have a secured Nigeria devoid of Fulani herdsmen madness. It's sickening that these cattle normads kill vulnerable Nigerians in the name of rearing cow, that needs to stop

They say a one eye man becomes a king in the midst of blind people else ds Aliero abi na Alonso guy shouldn't have being at the corridor of power. The same thing with Danjuma Goje of Gombe. It seems they sneaked in as Gov n again as senators. I listened to their speeches on the floor of the Senate yesterday and feel like weeping. Some bandits and Fulani people listening to them while speaking will now categorize on the fact they can move freely across the country unchallenged.

Herding within your property is ranching... IMO doesn't have land for that even

Agro industry I would invest in IMO is
Green house, every local government would have 50 hectares of green house loaned to youths trained to produce basic vegetables

Tomato, pepper, okra, and leafy green being the majority

The rest is intensive animal n fish farms

Plus buying up 1000s of hectares in niger, nassarawa ans Benue to produce corn and soy to feed the animals

Herding is herding! And IMO does not need to have land for it. It is private citizens, even whole village communities, who should focus on making it work on what is the limited property they have. The state can encourage citizens by investing in those who would be willing to use their property for such purposes. undecided

When Obasanjo said: "who will give you his land" (for RUGA, Ranch, etc), he did not mince words.
All over the free world, people in cattle breeding buy their farm, fence it, buy straw to feed their cattle, use artificial insemination to impregnate their cow, milk the cow every morning and every evening, milk collected every morning to milk depots where dairy products are made, and cattle for beef are taken to designated abattoirs for slaughter.

Let Fulani herdsmen and their sponsors mbrace modernity. Hiding under cattle to export a religion is an outdated formula.

Honestly.

Always talking about Governors using it to fight opposition or win elections. If that is the biggest crime that will be committed by State Police while the state is protected from Fulani herdsmen terrorists and foreign invaders, then we need state Police at all cost

As it stand, Nigerians stand a better chance with the police now than they would if the same police were controlled instead by the state government. Look at places like Abia, Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Niger, Kwara, Enugu, and Imo for examples of why not state Police at this point. grin

This issue is the more reason why we have insecurity in Nigeria.. The political will to deal decisively with the herders is what the APC political class lack. Every Nigerian has right to leave where he or she pleases. NO-one has any right whatsoever to trespass on another person's property or Land and if you must rear any form of bird, goat, cow or even fish farming.. Get a land, You can rent or buy a land, build a ranch. PERIOD!!! Do your biznez and make your money.. Most people from the SouthEast, go as far as to neighboring states to buy or rent lands that they will farm cassava for a season or two and even more.. This is been practiced by most individuals that are in Garri business. It is NOT hard..

It's just that the political class apply tribe and religion when making laws because they believe some certain tribe or region won't vote for them if they seek reelection.

For the sake of Almighty GOD.. Cows are definitely NOT the citizens of this great country.

Na Sen Babangida make sense pass. He said freedom of movement of people and their property is constitutional right, which not be impeded, however, the criminality behind the herdsmen operation is what should be isolated and addressed.

I agree with him. Herding of cattle in itself is not a problem, but killing people and destroying their farms must not be tolerated under wherever guise.

But in reality in Nigeria. Cows are Ist class citizens, if they are not ,why are they killing farmers , after encroaching on their farm , destroying their crops?

Truth be told . They are first class citizens

Tell them cow brothers.

Foolish barbaric people that love cow more than their fellow human beings grin

First time this Bola Tinubu's Senate President is impressing me cheesy

The constitution said every Nigerian citizen is free to move, live in any part of Nigeria, that's absolutely true, but cows are not Nigerian citizens. They are like every other animal in Nigeria that Nigerians rear in the confines of their homes and farms. Fulani must follow same business pattern.

Fulani herdsmen are free to live in any part of Nigeria and do their business but they should rent or buy or lease lands from the locals wherever they go to and build a ranch to carry out their cow rearing private business just like Pig farmers, poultry farmers, Goat, snail, fish farmers, etc farmers do. Nothing makes them special.

Buy or lease land, fence it and rear your cow in peace.

They should modernize the cow rearing business, start buying feeds and rations for their cows and add the cost to their cow when selling and anybody that can't afford beef should look for alternative meat and protein source.

Once Fulani herdsmen start ranching their cows, it will lead to birth of new businesses in Nigeria. I personally will start the production of cow feed and ration just as we are doing with poultry feeds and even Dangote their brother can start a mega production factory that produces cow feeds and this will lead to creation of more jobs for Nigerians and reduced farmer herder clashes that have killed our farming sector.

Senate must pass this bill and Tinubu must sign it into law. Next is to sign State Police into law to help States enforce this "ban on open grazing", anybody you sight rearing cow openly, shoot at sight immediately, don't ask questions.

You should have watched the video till the end..

Akpabio took his words back - he said cows can be moved because they are property...

He also requested the mover of the bill to step it down... grin
