The Lagos Redline Metro is a game-changer for mass movement in Lagos, Nigeria. The 37km rail line connects Agbado in Ogun State to Oyingbo in Lagos, with notable stops at Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba, and Oyingbo

President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the Red Line Rail Project on February 29, 2024. The Red Line will share the right-of-way with the Lagos-Kano Standard Gauge Railway The Red Line is envisioned as a vital metro link within the Lagos-Ibadan rail corridor

The Red Line is expected to carry over 500,000 passengers daily, reducing commute times and improving air quality by decreasing traffic congestion The project also includes the construction of 10 vehicular overpasses and pedestrian bridges to ensure the safe separation of train traffic from car and pedestrian movement
