Customary Chiefs Exonerate Oba Babatunde Saliu From Alleged Assault by Newsextra014: 9:53am On Jun 12
The Customary Chiefs of Lagos, in conjunction with Oworosoki traditional worshipers led by Chief Isiaka Oyemola Ogundare, the Paramount Apena of Lagos And Chairman of Customary Chiefs of Lagos have exonerated the Oloworo of Oworosoki Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Babatunde Saliu, from allegations of assault made by Akogun Adewale and his wife Salawe.

Speaking at a press conference held at Iledi Nla Osugbo on Lagos Island yesterday, Chief Rafiu Atanda, the Oluwo of Oworosoki Kingdom stated that, Oba Babatunde Saliu is a gentleman to the core and does not support violence in any form.
"The Customary Chiefs of Lagos stand behind the monarch and his reputation as a just and fair ruler.

"The allegations made against Oba Babatunde Saliu by Akogun Adewale and his wife, Salawe, claiming that the king alleged Thugs beat his wife to stupor and that it was not the first time the Monarch had mobilised his thugs to assault people, is a lie, " Atanda pointed out.

Stating that, he was at the palace on that faithful day, he said, the king only asked them what type of ritual rites are they performing without informing the king,.

"And the traditionalists called Salawe that King stopped them Infront of his palace. Immediately, this woman arrived, she started calling king names, Oba Saliu just called the police to handle the matter and he entered his palace. I was shocked to see news online that Thugs working for Oloworo beats woman to stupor. All these are fabricated lies," he stressed.

To this end, he said, "this is why we bring Akogun Adewale and wife Salawe matter to Customary Chiefs here in Lagos Island because information gathered shows that Adewale was a member of Lagos Island Customary Chiefs".

Chief Isiaka Oyemola Ogundare, the Paramount Apena of Lagos And Chairman of Customary Chiefs of Lagos alleged that Akogun Adewale is a blackmailer and impasinator, adding that, "we banned him from being a member of Customary Chiefs since 2019 because of impassinaton and the shame made him to leave Lagos Island and move to Oworosoki kingdom. Go and check his Facebook page, at times, he call himself King and he will dress like a King and post it on social media just to deceive people. He is not our member again."

He noted that, all his claims are baseless and without merit, hence, the Customary Chiefs of Lagos urge the public to disregard these false accusations and support Oba Babatunde Saliu in his continued efforts to lead the Oworosoki Kingdom with dignity and honour.

To him, "We call on all parties involved to approach these matters with caution and refrain from spreading further misinformation. The Customary Chiefs of Lagos remain committed to upholding the traditions and values of our beloved city and will continue to stand by our esteemed monarch, Oba Babatunde Saliu."

Recall that about 7 days ago, King Oba Babatunde Saliu had debunked the allegation In a statement issued and personally signed by him on last Wednesday, where he vehemently denied the report, stating that, it was entirely untrue and a gross misrepresentation of facts.

The monarch assured the public that he does not condone or employ thugs, and his kingdom has always promoted peace, unity and harmony among his subjects.
