June 12 is being celebrated today in honour of one man, MKO Abiola who fought to the bitter end to have his mandate restored.

Abiola never got his mandate back but his steadfastness towards retrieving his stolen mandate is why we are a democracy today.

Characters like Obi who served under the military junta of Abacha who are now preaching to us on the ideals of democracy , were never in the struggle against military rule.

Obi belongs to those Abacha courtiers who used their ill gotten wealth to run for political office during the transition to democracy by the Abdullsalam led interim military junta that succeeded Abacha following the latter's sudden death.


Yes, Obi was scheming for political office as early as 1998. The only reason you never heard of him until he assumed office through judicial ruling was because he lost out to others in the primary stage.

So it isn't surprising that someone like Obi will be at the forefront castigating our democracy and institutions like INEC and the judiciary that support it, for Obi only sees democracy as a means to political office , which as we all know by now, no matter the level of whitewashing, was a total disaster to the people and state of Anambra that had the misfortune of having Obi as a two term governor.

To people like Obi and his band of misfit zealot followers, democracy is only working when them and their candidate is in power. You can see this with the way they celebrate mediocrity and defend the callous levels of corruption allegations coming out of Abia - the only lone LP state. The level of hypocritical propaganda deployed by the Obidient internet trolls for the ruling LP govt of Abia, will make some naive fellows assume that it is only Abia state government that is working.

You must also be reminded that these same Obi fanatics were and are still clamouring for a truncation of our democracy all because their tribal candidate lost out to their arch rivals in the south. At no time has the fake democrat Obi ever called his followers to order especially during the height of the legal tussling at the Presidential Election Tribunal and at the Supreme Court. You will recall this was the peak period by the obidense mob demanding for military intervention when they saw that their Messiah had no case .

As far as I am concerned Obi is a bitter sore loser and anything but a democrat. When he was governor of Anambra, Obi refused to conduct LG elections until his final year in office and he only did this after a supreme court ruling ordered him to do so.

So if Obi's democracy day comments sounded full of bitterness and negativity towards our current democracy which he extended to both INEC and the judiciary, know that Obi was and never ever will be a democrat.

And how does it even exonerate Obi serving diligently under one of the most tyrannical and corrupt dictators to ever come out if Africa ?

Obi has no single moral grain to castigate our current democracy because he never fought for it and like most civilian appointees in a military junta, would have been against those advocating for democracy during Abacha's reign of tyranny.

It seems like Peter Obi is now your president because you cannot fail to wail about him every day.
