A Nigerian couple has been sentenced to life imprisonment in South Africa after being convicted of human trafficking.

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) reports that the couple was also charged with keeping a brothel.

Thirty-four-year-old Jude Ijegulu and his partner, Elizabeth Botes, 29, from Centurion in Pretoria, were sentenced by the Pretoria high court.

Ijegulu was sentenced to two life terms on two counts of rape and a further two years for being in the country illegally.

Prosecutors told the court that Ijegulu and Botes ran a brothel in Centurion from November 2016 to September 2017, where they kept two women.

“The man raped the two women and supplied them with drugs, as well as physically and sexually assaulting them,” Lumka Mahanjana, national prosecuting authority spokesperson, said.

“The couple would also instruct the two victims to render sexual services to clients.

“The judge found that the two violated the Human Trafficking Act. The man enslaved the two victims and fed them drugs.”

The court ordered that Ijegulu’s name be added to the national register of sexual offenders.

All we are trying to do over there is to develop the place for them and these stupid people no gree ? sad. Nonsense

More of this should happen instead of xenophobic attack on other African. Each culprit whatever the nationality involved in any criminality must be jailed with those non indigene receiving double or triple the jail term for daring to commit crimes in another country.

Sentenced to two life terms…. Means if he dies and they hear that he reincarnated himself back into SA …

He will be jailed again for life

Evil Nigerian scum deserve every single treatment they get , they are lucky the police caught them first, now we have to feed these useless migrant savages with our taxes. They should have been stoned to death like they would have been in their home country.

I think she got the spellings wrong. This is the correct info. One is a Nigerian and the other is a South African.

The 34-year-old Nigerian national, Jude Ikenna Ijegulu, and his 29-year-old partner Elizabeth Botes, from Centurion in Pretoria were sentenced in the Pretoria High Court.

Common now. Lol.
Just type ijegulu on Facebook, and you will see that it's 100% a Nigerian name from the results.

It was Ijebulu before. I think she corrected the name, so I corrected mine. I changed it back to Ijebulu so that there will be no confusion.

Please learn to add Igbo to Nigerians so the distinction is clear. They are the ones committing the majority of drug, human trafficking and violent crimes in your nation.

In South Africa, they are your Nigerian "Idamu adugbo" like Portable sang in Zazou. Ask any Yoruba you know to tell you the meaning of "Idamu adugbo".
