Father's Day: Senator Prince Ned Nwoko Urges Fathers to Honour Wives, Children

By Jerry Oghenerunor,

Punch News, Sunday June 16.

In a heartfelt speech delivered during this year's Father's Day celebrations at the Redeem Christian Church of God Agbor in Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko called on fathers to prioritize honoring their wives and children as a means of building successful families in society. The senator, represented by his Aide on Legislative and Political Matters, Olorogun Godwin Obire, also emphasized the importance of understanding, supporting, bonding, and appreciating one's spouse and children at all times.

Senator Nwoko eloquently highlighted the responsibilities of husbands, stressing the need for men to nurture and defend their nuclear family members both physically and spiritually, safeguarding them from all forms of adversity. In a profound display of reciprocity, he also advised wives and children to sincerely respect and obey their husbands and fathers.

Expressing deep gratitude to the Almighty for His boundless mercies, Senator Ned Nwoko urged the congregation to consistently acknowledge the Lord's goodness in order to attract even greater blessings. His message carried a profound sense of hope and unity, conveying his heartfelt wish for all fathers to experience a joyous celebration, divine protection, and good health as they continue to witness and celebrate future Father's Days.

During the sermon delivered by Pastor Fidelis Abedi, the importance of effective communication within the family unit was underscored. Drawing from various scriptures, including 1st Peter chapter 3 verse 7, Pastor Abedi fervently urged men to recognize the vulnerability of women as the "weaker vessels" and treat them with utmost respect, while assuming full responsibility for the upbringing and training of their children.

The words spoken by Senator Prince Ned Nwoko and the powerful sermon delivered by Pastor Fidelis Abedi left a lasting impact on the congregation, resonating as a powerful reminder of the crucial roles fathers play in their families and society. With Father's Day serving as a timely occasion for reflection and appreciation, it is hoped that the words of wisdom shared by these esteemed individuals will inspire fathers to embrace their responsibilities wholeheartedly, fostering love, respect, and unity within their families and communities.
