What a consolidation, from mainstream satellite TV company to a betting house, today I was brought close to tears when I went to a super market owned by a Nigerian lady and found that they have closed down because of the harsh economy. Dstv is definitely doing all it can to stay afloat and we have a government that is instead of building up the economy and business environment is busy building a coastal highway that no body needs 11 Likes 5 Shares |

dominique: You expect them to run a business at a loss? If they keep operating at a loss, they have to leave Nigeria. Same way many other companies have left Nigeria because of the high cost of doing business. 2 Likes 1 Share |

dominique:every other thing in Nigeria has had an increase in price due to harsh economic climate, should DStv be different ? They're not a charity organization, they've got taxes and other bills to pay and they must send home returns or just close down finally like other local and foreign companies are doing |

MASTAkiLLAh: If you run a non essential service that people can do without, you don't raise your prices so steep without repercussions. People were getting tired of their services and they decided to increase proce of subscription. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

If DSTV were honest with themselves they'd trim down their 400 channels to around 40. Nobody watches 90% of those their useless channels. They know the ones people watch, keep those, get rid of the useless ones and reduce price for subscription. They know what they need to do but they are more driven by extortionist dreams 7 Likes 1 Share |

jmoore: It's a no-brainer really. Any foreign company still in Nigeria is probably thinking of divesting, there is no light at the end of the tunnel for them cause the naira will unfortunately keep falling against the USD, making their funds repatriation meaningless. Of course, cost of doing business will only increase while purchasing power of Nigerians reduces, leading to lower revenue and ballooning opex |

I don't like helinues because he posts like he isn't feeling the heat the govt has put us in...but this is a very silly and ridiculous comment. How does he entering someone's DM correlate with the topic? Your assertion is even baseless as you did not provide any proof whatsoever |
