Following the recent Cholera outbreak in some parts of Lagos, the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) has initiated comprehensive measures to safeguard public health and ensure access to safe drinking water across the state.

A release by the Corporation said that it has commenced an extensive water sampling and quality monitoring campaign throughout the State. This proactive initiative aims to assess the safety and potability of water from various sources, thereby identifying potential health risks associated with contamination.

Expressing its deep concern about the recent outbreak in parts of the State, particularly in Lekki and Victoria Island Areas, the LWC urged the public to refrain from consuming water from unreliable or untreated sources.

Residents were, however, encouraged to bring water samples from their homes or public spaces for testing by the qualified teams at the Lagos Water Corporation Headquarters, Ijora. It added that the LWC Water Quality Monitoring team will be monitoring water consumption across the state to identify and control the outbreak.

They have accommodation for the millions of household in Lagos?

So what happens to deployment of paid workers to sample water in homes in every LGA of the state and determine the safety of water consumed?

I have only spent 2years here in the abroad but have had my water sampled and tested in my presence at home. With indepth explanation to why the water is safe for consumption and the testers drinking from it.

But in Nigeria residents should bring their water to them.
