The Police Service Commission (PSC) on Wednesday called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately sack the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun for undermining the police recruitment process.

PSC also faulted the alleged corruption levelled against the PSC.

Briefing reporters in Abuja, Chairman of the Association of Senior Civil Servent of Nigeria (ASCSN) and Joint Union Congress of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Adoyi Adoyi expressed displeasure over what he described as false allegation against the PSC.

The IGP, at the weekend through a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, alleged the recruitment process was marred with irregularities and corruption.

Adoyi said there was reliable information indicating that elements within the police Force attempted to smuggle over 1, 000 names into the recruitment list.

If he doesn’t do it now, it is still the same people that’ll accuse him of not doing enough for his people as IGP. Nepotism has deep-fried our sensibilities so long that even those calling out the fraud will be attacked more by those they’re actually fighting for, till another scandal takes the spotlight and is also forgotten. Everyone says they want good governance in Nigeria, but how many people really know what that even looks like?? undecided

From a reliable source, the process was transparent but the powers that be were not impressed that was why Dr Arase was sacked

Egbetokun no lie na.... It's d same thing going on in d military as well... U have to know someone before being selected... Not only military, even paramilitary, customs, immigration, FRSC....writing exams and all d yeye exercise na waste of time.... If na 20 slot dey na only 2 dey on merit, d rest na for who know who

Some top personnel in the police can do that without the IG knowing about it so proper investigation should be conducted before accusing him of wrong doing
