At 07:27 hours, a fire outbreak was reported at the Christ Embassy Church located on Billings Way, Ikeja. Firefighting units from Alausa and Ikeja fire stations were promptly dispatched and arrived at the scene by 07:36 hours. The church auditorium was found to be engulfed in flames. The fire is currently under control.

In addition, LASEMA's excavator is being used to pull down some parts of the building to ensure complete extinguishment and to prevent further structural collapse.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and investigations are underway to ascertain its origin. No casualties have been reported at this time. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Lagos fire service are the slowest fire response team in the world, they couldn't do anything to stop the fire, just spent a lot of time spraying water on the flowers of the church building and in the end, the fire ran out when it got to the end of that line.

I wonder why they wasted time and damaged the building on the southern side to puncture and unneeded hole into the walls.

The church should just check if their money is missing. This is not fire fighting.

Lagos State Fire Service is trying. I remember travelling from Ajah to Port Harcourt on 23rd May. One truck carrying empty CNG cylinders ran into another truck carrying PMS on a bridge in Epe. It was almost a head-on collision.

Motorists were too scared to pass through the bridge because the PMS was steadily leaking. We were stuck for 4 hours until all the uniformed agencies in Nigeria arrived at the scene.

Fire service, military, police, road safety and lastma worked as one team to clear the road. They used their tow truck to pull out the CNG truck after neutralising the leaking PMS flowing on the bridge. Thank God there was no explosion. The motorists gave them a round of applause for doing a great job! 👌👌

Don't mind them... Trying to save their own image is more important to them. Guess they still deserve some kudos for not letting it spread to surrounding buildings.

Christ Embassy Oregun is just about 1 km away from Lagos state fire service in Alausa... It's even a trekking distance; 3 mins by car, 15 mins by foot. I think they could've done better.
