The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Economic Development, Mr. Emem Bob, officially received the draft copy of the 2025-2027 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) during a formal presentation at the Ministry’s conference room. The draft, presented by the Committee's Chairman, and Director General of the Akwa Ibom State Fiscal Responsibility Board, Mr. Victor Edet, marks a significant step towards strategic financial planning for the State.

The Committee responsible for the draft was constituted and inaugurated on May 22, 2024. The Committee was tasked with developing a comprehensive MTEF/FSP to guide the State's economic direction for the next three years. The framework is crucial for aligning Akwa Ibom's budgetary and fiscal policies with long-term developmental goals and ensuring prudent financial management.

In his response, Commissioner Bob expressed deep gratitude to The Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, for endorsing the preparatory process for the 2025 budget. He commended the Committee for their diligent efforts in crafting a document that adheres to international best practices.

“We must consider the vision of the ARISE Agenda in whatever we do to ensure we deliver on the mandate of His Excellency for the rapid development of the State,” emphasized Mr. Bob. He stressed the need to align the State’s economic planning with the Governor’s development agenda.

The meeting was attended by committee members and management staff of the Ministry, underscoring the collective commitment to advancing Akwa Ibom’s economic future through robust and transparent fiscal planning.
