Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by atoliman: 2:04pm On Jun 25 |
AFter the removal of fuel subsidy, many businesses running on diseal generator saw their profit reduce drastically. Diseal was affordable before Fuel Subsidy. And people are wondering why jobs no dey. It is because businesses are not making money at all .Nigeria is too bless to have a high number of unemployment because Businesses are not being supported by the government. If light can be 14 hours a day in some cities or states , businesses will do well and unemployment will go down. Money will come to the country. I do not knoe if our leaders are afraid or short slighted or too greedy to do hydroelectric dams or other massive electricity projects because maybe those who are selling generators or inverter are threatening them. If light does not improve , do not expect things to improve in Nigeria. 3 Likes |

Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by babasolution: 3:43pm On Jun 25 |
mrvitalis: You people don't know anything, many small businesses need constant light to function optimally, government should ensure there's constant light even its subsidises it.generator cost is not only in fuel cost, but maintenance, unreliability, efficiency cost etc. |

mrvitalis: Generator isn't reliable, overuse also damages it, it breakdowns and takes days to fix with heavy cost, you now have to have several standby generators, constant power supply is way preferable 2 Likes |

mrvitalis: Not true, have you ever been to the United States? Some companies would have a backup system which they rarely use just in case. Most companies don't primarily generate their own power in any of the developed countries that I know. 3 Likes |

Guestlander:Depends on how big the company is Steel companies, big manufacturing companies especially those who have raw materials to burn produce their own power because it's cheaper |

Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by DeLaRue: 8:01pm On Jun 25 |
24hr electricity will help a bit, but won't make a huge difference economically. Aside from cost, if there is constant electricity but you don't have work to do with it, then it won't make a difference to you. Where it will make a difference is in personal comfort, especially during very hot evenings. |

Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by babasolution: 10:29pm On Jun 25 |
mrvitalis: It's a lie,i have paid wey less than that for almost constant electricity in an area before, and it did a whole lot of good while it lasted |
Re: Constant light will solve many problems in Nigeria by atoliman: 2:20am On Jun 26 |
DeLaRue: It will help a lot actually. With a young population, manufacturing jobs will boast up significantly. Take innosun motors for example, imagine there is constant light. Imagine how much more cars Nigeria can produce and sell to other african countries think of welding, food perservation of perishable food. Another aspect in dialysis business , and health care, telecommunication will also improve, signal power or cell tower run on electricity. This is what Nigeria needs to break up from depending on oil 95% percent. The Saudi are doing so. Please this is beyond having a cool house running on ac or electric fan or personal comfort |
