A High Court of Justice of Nasarawa State sitting in Keffi, has restrained the Department Of State Security Service (DSS) and Inspector General Of Police (IGP), from arresting lawyer, Barrister Victor Giwa, Mr K olawole Olawale and other directors of a property firm, Abeh Signatures Limited and its officials

The court in an order dated June 25, 2024, after the submission of A. M.
Akoza Esq, counsel to the applicant ordered parties to maintain status quo.

Also joined as respondents in the suit are Asabe Waziri, Commissioner of Police, FCT, Abuja, CP Aina Emmanuel SEB, FCID


Justice Abdullahi Ozegya, after listening to submission of counsel held, "It is hereby ordered as follows: An Order of Interim Injunction directing the 2™ - 4" Respondents either through ther agents and officers to STAY FURTHER ACTION TO WIT Maintain Status Quo ante bellum in respect to the subyect matter of the suit in relation to the Applicant until the determination of Moton on Notice.

"An Order of Interrm Injunction restraining the 2nd — 5th Respondents jointly and severally from FURTHER INVITING, ARRESTING AND DETAINING the Applicant's Directors, Staff and Workers on this subyect matter of this suit pending the determination of the Motion on Notice.

Mr Kolawole, a director of Abeh Signature, was on his trip to Keffi during the Salah break when he was informed about the invitation by the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID.

He however approached the court to file a fundamental rights enforcement suit.

In the affidavit in support of the motion exparte, he said there is threat of arrest of the directors of Abeh Signature including its lawyer, Barrister Victor Giwa
by the police.

The court granted the, order amd adjourned the case to July 10, 2024.

Barristwr Giwa, who was in the hospital receiving treatment said the court is the last hope of the common man and added that he will be leaving the hospital to visit the DIG force CID to see why he been invited.

Asabe Waziri, a staff of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has been in serious brawl with Abeh signature apartment, a property company that declined selling it flat to Asabe, for making payment over of over $40, 000 in cash.

According to him, Asabe has been using some officers of the Nigeria police force to forcefully gained entrance and occupy the flats even against a direct and positive court order restraining Asabe Waziri from trespassing and entering into the premises.

He said the property owner has exercised their right to declined offer for purchase because of her misconduct.

Earlier in 2022 an FCT high court Abuja has in final judgement held that Asabe Waziri contract with the property company was validly terminated and ordered that all money paid, should be immediately refunded. Abeh signature in obedience to the court order issued a refund to Asabe, but Asabe has rejected the refund.

The property has been in dispute since then as a result Asabe’s insistence in claiming ownership of the flats and using security operative to forcefully take possession.

How the rich and the privileged uses the State apparatus to intimidate and oppress others is disheartening. The Country must be made to work for everyone regardless who you are or your status in life.
