"Court Halts Sokoto Governor's Attempt to Sack Two District Heads Amidst Controversy"

The Sokoto State Higher Court has restrained Governor Aliyu from sacking two district heads, Alhaji Buhari Dahiru Tambuwal of Tambuwal and Alhaji Abubakar Kassim of Kebbe, amidst the controversial dethronement of 15 traditional rulers. The court, presided by Justice Kabiru Ibrahim Ahmed, ordered the governor, the Attorney General, and the Sokoto Sultanate Council to maintain the status quo until the case is resolved. This legal intervention follows allegations of insubordination and aiding insecurity against the dethroned rulers. The court's orders seek to halt any further actions related to the removal of these district heads pending a motion for an interlocutory injunction filed by the complainants.
