A new thing is happening in Africa, indeed a new world order is happening globally. There are the old colonialists hoping to retain their hold over the whole world, then there are indigenous peoples hoping to set themselves free to be the people that God intended them to be. The key word here is SOVEREIGNTY. Ethnic Nations are set free from the oppressor and coloniser when they exercise their inalienable right of Sovereignty over their ancestral lands. In Nigeria, NINAS, the voice of indigenous peoples has undertaken the great work of Sovereignty and Self-Determination Restoration.

One of the beloved heroes of the Black World is Amílcar Cabral. He would have been 100 years old in September this year and he was a leading figure in the struggle for Independence and Sovereignty of Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde. Those who have followed the progress of the NINAS Strategy will see that its Masterminds have been guided by these words of Amílcar Cabral that continue to inspire:

“Hide nothing from the masses of our people. Tell no lies. Expose lies whenever they are told. Mask no difficulties, mistakes, failures. Claim no easy victories...”
“Always bear in mind that the people are not fighting for ideas, for the things in anyone's head. They are fighting to win material benefits, to live better and in peace, to see their lives go forward, to guarantee the future of their children.”

NINAS is the Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination and in 1999, began to develop a Strategy which birthed the 5-Point NINAS Proposition that addresses Nigeria’s constitutional crisis of relying on nothing but a rejected Forgery as its “Constitution” (aka Union Agreement), and corrects the long-lingering Union Dispute by way of a Constitutional Force Majeure declared 16 December 2020. That started the enforcement phase of Decommissioning the imposed, illegitimate 1999 Constitution. It involves entering a period of Transitioning for the purpose of calmly negotiating a fresh Constitutional/Union Reconfiguration as decided by “We the indigenous peoples” for they have Sovereignty over their ancestral lands.

We get a good picture of the Rationale behind the NINAS Strategy from the various NINAS Communiqués, video Broadcasts and Townhalls etc. The Rationale came about after much research and analyses. It involved getting historical information from local and international archives, and questioning, always questioning and probing, that led to answers, and from there, workable potent solutions. NINAS had broken the Liberation work into 16 Stages and is now nearing the end, having successfully done all that was required to now be at combined Stages 14 and 15 out of 16.

Effective problem-solving starts by acknowledging that every problem has a solution, and a solution that is to be found by Africans and worked out by Africans. Through carrying out analyses people are able to understand why things are the way they are, and also able to identify proposals that are worthless, and reject those. So, useful problem-solving involves striving for an understanding of the problem first, rather than jumping to some “solution” without analysis. The value of the NINAS Strategy is its sound analyses – there was no “prophet” somewhere getting ideas out of nowhere. A serious kind of analyses and research had to be applied. Questions were asked: Why were indigenous Nigerians being super-exploited? Why were there still violent extractive processes of mineral resources similar to during colonial days throughout Africa? Why were there unequal exchanges with foreign countries that disadvantage indigenous Nigerians? NINAS carried out analyses of the historical context of colonial Nigeria, going into various archives and old records for information. These analyses guided the steps to take towards solving Nigeria’s problem. From their investigations and studies NINAS found a pathway and roadmap to the new world that Nigerians had been seeking since before Independence, but had still not reached! They were able to pinpoint how 1960 Independence did not bring constitutional independence because the Sovereignties of indigenous Ethnic Nations had been hijacked, and Britain had by rigging and guile, made the immigrant settler Fulani the overlords.

By these intensive analyses NINAS identified that the 1999 Constitution was introduced to keep Nigerians under Bondage and it overrides the Sovereignty and Self-Determination of indigenous Ethnic Nations. They also identified that the 1999 Constitution is the Instrument that empowers the Fulani Conquest Agenda to turn Nigeria into the “estate” of the Fulani. Now having a thorough understanding of the problem, NINAS then based their 5-Point Proposition on truths and facts obtained, on the UNDRIP instrument, and on international law.

Nigerians are now very close to being able to renegotiate for themselves the kind of country that they want. It involves them exercising their Ethnic Nation’s right of Sovereignty. It also involves them working with the countrywide consensus that the 1999 Constitution is ILLEGITIMATE and is to be abandoned (that is why the National Assembly talked about giving Nigerians a New Constitution), so Nigerians need a new Constitutional Arrangement which they must determine for themselves – no more imposition! Nigerians should also engage their minds with the Strategy that brings their Liberation. It is all quite logical, so here then is the little that is left for Nigerians to do to bring about the bright new world that has eluded them since Independence in 1960:

1. Sovereignty is inalienable and belongs to the indigenous Ethnic Nations on their ancestral lands.

2. Move with the consensus that the 1999 Constitution is not only illegitimate and a fraud because it is an imposed Forgery, it is the source of miseries and enables the Fulani Conquest Agenda against Nigerians.

3. The 1999 Constitution must therefore be Decommissioned.

4. Elections renew the life of the 1999 Constitution when the winner swears an Oath of Office to uphold it. So no further National Elections under the 1999 Constitution until the constitutional crisis and Union Dispute are resolved (by Transitioning).

5. So as to have no anarchy and no power vacuum, a time-bound period of Transitioning will be had for Constitutional Renegotiation, where existing governance structures would remain in place.

6. A two-stage process would be used:
(i) Stage 1: Just as was done before Independence, Ethnic Nations in formations (Blocs) of their choice would FIRST make their Regional Constitutions.
(ii) Stage 2: There will be Regional Referendums for Ethnic Nations to vote to either re-commit to the Union of Nigeria, or to go for something else. If they vote to re-commit to the Union, there would be negotiations on how that Union would be, then a Federating Constitution made.

7. If no agreement is reached, there would be independent Successor Countries. This is also the default position if Transitioning is avoided.

The research and analyses to come up with the 5-Point NINAS Proposition were rigorous, but the Proposition itself follows simple logic. It is about making connections with what you read. The Notice of Constitutional Force Majeure which gives the historical context and Rationale was published in the Nigerian Guardian newspaper (Link HERE: https://guardian.ng/notice-of-constitutional-grievances-declaration-of-constitutional-force-majeure-and-demand-for-transitioning-process-for-an-orderly-reconfiguration-of-the-constitutional-basis-of-the-federation/ )
and is also available on all the NINAS websites. Making connections with what you read means engaging the mind and intellect with the text. It means connecting what you read with what you are going through and with what others are going through, including what is happening in your community, and in Nigeria.

The NINAS Strategy demands critical thinking because those who devised it applied critical thinking during their research and analyses. Without an analysis of the problem being faced, and a plan based on findings, the problem is not getting solved (and we are simply helping the enemy). Going back to the words of Amílcar Cabral:

“Hide nothing from the masses of our people… Claim no easy victories.”

That is what NINAS has done and has continued to do. They have been transparent and have not said that the work had been easy. On the contrary, NINAS had revealed several of the obstacles faced, including because of COVID-19, and the criminal enterprises and fake freedom fighting gangs that caused huge setbacks to the Sovereignty and Self-Determination Restoration work. Copying with distortions and plagiarizing from the NINAS Strategy so as to cause confusion, and to lead Nigerians astray have also been things that the Liberation work has had to contend with too. Despite all those obstacles, all humans have the ability to discern truth from lies when they engage their minds, and carry out their own analyses of the material that has been proposed to them.

Below is a chart for the Lower Niger Bloc but its different phases apply equally to the other two Blocs of the NINAS Territory (Yoruba Bloc and Middle Belt Bloc). The work to be done had been given targeted dates but obstacles had come in the way – which happens with all authentic Liberation work. Nevertheless, the Phases of the work remain intact and NINAS continues to push ahead: Vitória é certa!
