The future of economic development in Akwa Ibom State looks dynamic as the Akwa Ibom State Government, led by Commissioner for Economic Development, Mr. Emem Bob, kicks off USAID’s National Work Plan Development Workshop at Four Point by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene on Monday, July 1st, 2024. The event is a proof to the state’s commitment to strategic partnerships and economic progress.

In his remarks, Emem Bob welcomed the USAID/ STATE2STATE team to Akwa Ibom State, lauding the choice of the state as the location for the National Work Plan Development Workshop.

“We are honored and delighted that USAID/ STATE2STATE has chosen Akwa Ibom State as the destination for this important workshop. This decision speaks volumes about the state’s attractiveness as a venue for such events.

Mr. Bob emphasized the vital role of the Ministry of Economic Development in fostering relationships with donor organizations and coordinating the government’s engagement in these collaborations.

“The Ministry of Economic Development serves as the focal point for donor relations and activities for the Akwa Ibom State Government. Through our partnership with State2State, we strive to advance best practices in budgeting, planning, revenue mobilization, audit, procurement, monitoring and evaluation, gender, and conflict mitigation.

“The State is committed to providing its full support to these efforts and to working closely with the USAID/State2State team to ensure that the initiatives outlined in our five-year plan are implemented effectively and with maximum impact.”

As the event concludes, Mr. Emem reaffirming the Akwa Ibom State Government’s dedication to making the partnership with USAID/State2State a resounding success.
