Since the ministries want to be unfortunate being deliquent, they should wallow in darkness till they get their bills paid or they should source for alternative form of energy. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the heads of the respective MDA/ ministries have siphoned or diverted the funds into fixed deposit (that's the usual way of fct civil service) Let the paying public enjoy the service they deserve. |

Meanwhile, with billions in budgetary allocation for power, the money would have been stolen. Let them bring back the stolen money to pay electricity bills....so they can steal more.... |

The chicken is coming home to roost. When the FG was increasing the tariff, they didn't envisage that it will affect them too. In hindsight, the privatisation of the generation and distribution arms of the electricity value chain was a big mistake. It has made power inaccessible to most Nigerians. How does one explain how a country that sits atop vast reserves of natural gas, yet the citizens are suffering from black outs! FG has its share of natural gas through JVs, why not allocate a part of it for electricity generation? |
