The soldiers would leave the terrorists they're supposed to engage and start looking for market women, school children, taxi drivers and harmless passers by to bully with frog jump. That's the real problem. Misplacement of priorities and outright institutional cowardice.

I don’t think they would do that. If they deploy soldiers in a combat zone they should be fully kitted, helmets, body armour and the lots.

Once things calm down there the 1000 soldiers can have a soldier’s farm to boost our Agricultural output and a mammy market would also be handy boosting economic activities in the area.

This seems to be a good idea that can work.

Those saying a coup will happen are not making sense. If the military wanna plan coup, they will only do it if politicians sponsor or caused it

Some lgas are so large that 1,000 soldiers may not be able to man them.
What's the estimated number of our army?
Active soldiers + reserves, the total.

Soldiers are not police officers...

A police officer might stay at a particular location for a long time and even become well connected with the community...

Soldiers by their very nature and training cannot stay in a particular location for a long time, it makes them restless...

Also, soldiers are trained to distinguish and sometimes despise the civilian population.

Sending a thousand soldiers to a LGA it automatically becomes 'occupied territory' and the civilians become 'enemies'.
