The Federal Government has paid up the backlog of debts to European airlines to the tune of $850m.

The European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and the ECOWAS, Samuela Isopi, revealed this at the 9th edition of the Nigeria – EU Business Forum in Abuja on Tuesday.

She commended the government for its intervention in clearing the backlog as well as the removal of foreign exchange restrictions on the import of forty-three items.

Isopi said that Nigeria remains the EU’s largest trading partner with about 35 billion Euros in trade relations in the last year.

She also said that Nigeria is the E.U’s biggest foreign investor with a stock estimated at 26 billion Euros, representing one-third of Nigeria’s foreign direct investment.

Isopi added that over 230 EU companies operate in Nigeria, providing jobs for youths and women.

The meeting has the theme ‘Investing in Jobs and Sustainable Future’.

Others in attendance include the Director General at the EU, Myriam Ferran; the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu, and the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Nura Rimi.

The forum is expected to create a platform for dialogue between the public and the private sector as well as highlight the role of government in supporting businesses towards achieving inclusive development.

Money created out of thin air

Lolzzzz

Really funny World.

Money created out of thin air by Central Banks and then multiplied by commercial banks based on Fractional Reserve Banking and manipulation of interest rates

And guess what you have?

A bloody Rat race for the uninformed masses. Working 9-5 for an illusion...a dirty nastiest game which you play blindfolded

Gtb, zenith, access, okay, kuda....they are all creating loans out of your deposits be it electronic deposit or cash deposits...then they loan that money back to you, their uninformed customer AND still charge you interest and collateral on top your own money

It has been going on before you were born and your parents fell blindly for it....now look at you...their child who is supposed to be better than his parents...the girl who's supposed to be smarter than her dad

Absolutely. Those sadists and haters of the “Zoo” would be throwing the biggest midweek party in the world right now if this was negative news about Nigeria and Tinubu.

Hmm. . Hope it will bring down the value of USD to Naira. It should logically.

When the foreign reserves were depleting an going down, a lot of Nigerians were shouting here that govt is using it to buy Forex to gain Naira valuation.

For the past few weeks / month that our foreign reserves have been increasing, the demons / dark enemies of the nation kept quiet.

We are our major problem in this country. We have too many selfish and greedy (witchcraft) souls in the country. That is why the darkness is so gross.

It's obvious the govt is trying to correct it's errors and ensure that the country does not get collapsed, especially the economy. But we are darkened in thoughts grossly as a people and citizen.

When govt brought dollar down from almost N2,000 to $1 to about N1,000 to $1, bread companies, coke, beverages, milk companies etc refuse to reduce their selling prices by 1 Kobo. The masses govt is trying to aid will grossly go the media and say that govt is using their foreign reserve to enhance Naira valuation and will not see the enemies amongst themselves that continues to increase end-price of food, goods and services.

A big achievement by APC and Ebola.

You want people to hail you for paying your debts, money that you wickedly seized over time for nothing, did you intend not to pay back before? And the zom.bies are jumping up and down in ecstasy as if it will make a bag of rice come down to N10000.

Wicked leaders.

Anytime I see Tinimbum, I remember Darken Rahl, the famous character in Legend of the seeker who's mission on earth was to deceitfully suffocate mankind and bring hell to them on earth playing the devil's wish

Tinimbum represents evil and wickedness while pretending to be God's sent, this was exactly how Darken Rahl played it.
