So....in essence, the state is too poor & irresponsible to run the hospital effectively, therefore the federal government had to step in & take over right? Just like the useless trend of building unviable airports by state government...only to hand over to the federal government when the burden of debt, salaries & uselessness of d airports become obvious ![]() |

sharpwriter:Your moniker doesn't replicate what you just put up there. If you're truly a sharp writer, you ought to have understood my commemt before responding. I dont just talk without facts to back it up . How many people in Nigeria can afford afe babalola medical bills, talkless of poor people of ekiti? The state teaching hospital is a glorified health centre. The governor commissioned ordinary mammo this week and posted it on the social media, what's in mammo...an x-ray machine for breast examinations . That's what they saw as a big thing. I know of other southern states who are in ekiti shoes. North has almost everything yet, they depend on our allocation to survive. Affordable Healthcare is lacking in that state just like it is in some southern states with lean allocation. Kaduna alone has 5 major federal health facilities, while ekiti had only one which was the fmc , now FTH. That's not enough. The college you mentioned is just a school, not a hospital. |

Eriokanmi:How many people can afford it? You'd be surprised at the amount of people that can if you do your research. If many can't, there are other hospitals to use in the state. Your post suggested that people struggle to get basic health care there as if the state is in the eighteenth century. Ekiti population is normal and not explosive and I can tell you that it ain't a struggle to get health care there. That a hospital is federal doesn't mean it will have everything desired there. You talked as if Ekiti has only one or two hospitals to care for all the state. Between do you even live there? Your submission is an assumed suggestion that any random person can throw out like tantrums. |

This is no good news. The state is better positioned to provide better care for the people. If its about money, lets create jobs through Agriculture, tourism etc , so that we can collect tax and generate more revenue to take care of things lile this. |
