I am not sure this is the right place to open this discussion but since it's related to food, this is as good a place as any.

Recently, a friend told me how a well known hustler came into his pharmacy with a good samaritan. The story is that the "hustler is sick and need meds". He then goes to sell the meds for money.

If we look at how "palliative" are shared, we can notice a pattern where the people that need it never gets it.

Looking at the welfare system in other developed countries, it's easy to see how it works.

Simply put, you get food stamps or coupons, go to a store, buy your food or other necessities and use the stamp to pay.

What's stopping us from implementing this in Nigeria? Especially if it's in partnership with private sector and stores.

Need those with insights into how the welfare system work in other countries tell us pitfalls of implementing such in Nigeria.

PS: please this isn't a politics discussion. Leave politicians out of the discussion. This is discussion on how to take a system and adapt it to our needs.
